The song (slide to get it) was just something I thought went pretty well with this prompt, so it's not really a 'songfic', nor is it necessary with the reading. No warnings! Yay!

He didn't really know how to react when he first met you, but pretty soon you had him smiling. He was slightly concerned with the overall happy feeling he got around you, but it was also... well, nice. He'd walk around stoic as ever, then the moment he saw you, his lips turned up into a soft smile. Today was no different.
"Hiya, Cas!" You greeted, arms already full of presents for tonight's festivities. The brothers weren't so big on Christmas, but that didn't mean absolutely NO Christmas, right? He felt the usual happy feeling coursing through him as he smiled at your overall presence.
"Hello, y/n." He took some of the presents from you, helping you set them on the bunker's study table. Dean and Sam entered not far behind, instantly greeting you with big hugs, before Dean turned his attention to the presents.
"Oh, yeah! You are definitely the best!" You laughed with the older Winchester as he helped you sort through which presents went to who. All the while, Sam watched Castiel smile as he went to go get coffee. Castiel smiling? You definitely were the best.

January rolled around, and you took no time to travel to the bunker again to see your friends. The twenty-forth was Dean's favorite holiday; His birthday.
"Y/n!" Dean dropped what he was doing to run up and greet you with a big hug. Sam came chuckling in, hoping someone would call Cas soon.
"Hey, Dean!" You laughed as he spun you around a few times. Sam simply shook his head at the familiar antics before going to grab a beer.
"Any chance you brought a gift for the birthday boy?" You held up your bag, signaling it was in there, and he did a little victory fist-pump, "Oh, Yeah!" You laughed at the man-child known as Dean Winchester. The familiar flapping of wings alerted you to the angel that had entered, and upon hearing your voice, he begun smiling.
"Cas! It's been forever, you idiot!" You swung your arms around him, pulling him into an embrace. Usually this kind of contact was foreign and awkward to him, yet, standing here with you, it just made him smile more as he wrapped his arms tightly around you.

It was May when you dropped by again. Sam's birthday was on May second, after all. Castiel was in the bunker already, this time. He sensed you before he saw you. Sam knew you were coming from the small smile that played on Castiel's lips, right before you entered the kitchen, bag and a wrapped box in tow.
"You really don't have to get us anything, y/n." Sam insisted as you handed him the gift. You rolled your eyes before answering.
"Yes. I really do have to. It's my job as the sister of this really weird but awesome family." Dean's chuckling and Sam's grateful smile told you all you needed to know on their appreciation.
"Cas doesn't get gifts, though." Dean pointed out, mainly to just be a jerk. The realization hit you that Dean was right. Castiel didn't have a birthday you knew of, therefore there wasn't a trip made to see him turn another year older.
"Y/n's returning presence to the bunker is enough gift for me, I assure you." The blush spread to your cheeks before anyone ever turned to look at him. Not being human, Castiel didn't really realize the significance of his words, he just knew that was how he felt.

You decided Castiel's birthday would be on August fourth, the first day you met him. You just entered the bunker, the brothers instantly coming to greet you. When they took a step back, they noticed the pristinely wrapped gift under your arm, and began fretting they may've forgotten your birthday. (Of your bday is anytime around August fourth, just pretend it's not.) Of course, that couldn't be the case. They specifically remember your birthday was d/o/b, nowhere near the date.
"Hey, Castiel! Come on! Don't leave us hanging!" You called towards the ceiling, but the boys knew what you were doing. Your prayer quickly reached the angel, who wasted no time zooming to your side, a smile already forming on his usually stoic face. Turning to the sound of wings, you held out the present.
"What's this?" He asked, confusion lining his face, looking remarkably like a confuzzled puppy.
"Happy Day-I-Met-You, Cas!" Cautiously, he took the gift from you. The thin rectangle raised in an inch thick border around the rest of it. He peeled away the paper, receiving the only picture you had of the both of you in a silver frame. He was a little shocked, his mouth hanging open only slightly.
"You said you enjoyed having me around, well, now I'm always with you!" It was a joke, but Castiel had a legitimate appreciative smile.
"Thank you, y/n. I couldn't have asked for a better gift." He was caught only slightly off guard this time when your arms enveloped him in a hug. Returning the gesture, he let out a breath he hadn't known he'd been holding.

"So, y/n has a case down in Mcadnville, I think we should check it out." Castiel had been sitting in the kitchen with the boys, instantly smiling when he heard your name.
"You're probably right. If y/n told you, she definitely needs the help." And with that, they were off to meet you in Mcadenville. From the bunker it was about a seven hour drive, but as your name was thrown around, Sam swore Castiel was smiling the entire way there. Even if only slightly. Slightly turned into a usual, normal smile, as he saw you waiting to greet him and the boys at the motel. Sam was the first to hug you, and while the other two were out of earshot, he gave you some advice.
"Just kiss Cas already, will you?" A little stunned you broke off and looked at Sam who was giving you a knowing smirk. Looking at the angel standing with Dean behind the impala, your smile returned. Returning your attention to Sam, you shrugged, as if you hadn't decided. Dean rounded the car, swinging you only a bit as he lifted you off the ground in a bear hug.
"Missed you, small-bit!" He joked with a nickname that had mostly been retired. You laughed as he returned your feet to the ground. Turning to Castiel, who looked mostly like a soldier, save for a small smile, you didn't hesitate to interrupt him.
"Greetings, y/n-" You pressed your lips to his, unknowing how he'd react, if he did at all. To your surprise, he kissed back.
