Everyone in the kingdom were busy today. Her mother and right-hand Lola were already making special preparations for the wedding; her father was tending to the needs of pressing business being the busy King of an entire nation, King Eltis himself having flown back with his son, Prince Elec, straight after the decision was made the night before as he had his own pressing issues back in his country - which made sense to Kalia seeing as he had been physically absent from responsibility for two days already, but she was utmost grateful that he had taken the devil's spawn back with him.
Kalia pulled her knitted cape tighter around herself as though it would do her any good. The leaves of autumn fell with grace, the branches that were once their home stood brooding and proud as they prepared to welcome the winter. At this time of year, the garden required extra care, a job that Kalia took pride in doing to spare the kingdom's help of another job, as well as for a hobby, something for her own personal enjoyment. Sure, someone else could take care of it when she had to retreat her life in London in a month's time, but the thought of leaving the task to someone else when left her with an empty feeling inside, especially since it reminded her of everything else that she loved and would have to leave behind when she left her home for another man's, just as the sun neglected the flowers for an affair with the flora of another hemisphere.

The cool air welcomes Queen Celeste as she steps out of the double doors and into the garden. After receiving a tip from one if the maid's within the palace, she was able to figure out Kalia's hiding spot when she was no where to be found after breakfast that morning.
After a twist behind a hedge or two and a right turn at the wall of white roses she finds her there, her dark hair wrapped up in a loose chignon that had fallen to the nape of her neck, a few curled strands falling around her face. Kalia was completely oblivious to her presence, completely in her own world.
"I've always loved carnations," Queen Celeste voiced. "They persevere through every season."
Kalia was surprised at her sudden company, quickly fixing her face into a smile. She had nothing against his mother, she was nothing but kind to her.
Kalia made room on the seat as Celeste walked over and sat beside her, before turning back to the view before them, taking it in. Where they sat was on a small white platform overlooking some of the finest flowers of the garden, the colours all differing as they did in size and shape. Vines grew from no where in particular and gripped to the white pillars, giving them life and personality. Kalia was burdened and blessed with a sudden silence within her that she couldn't control.
