When Kalia slipped out of her bedroom early that afternoon on the third day since their guest's arrival, she had the sole intention of escaping into the library for a few hours before dinner would commence. The library was often a place Kalia ran into her sister Tessa, but otherwise, she often found herself in her own world of solitude. It was completely secluded in where it was in the palace, it was a part of the mansion that was in its own area, that even the help hardly passed. The only necessary company were the guards of the kingdom, but they kept outside of the library, not moving from where they stood.

However, her solitude was polluted by running into a certain someone in her place of sanctuary.

There he was, in the library, his upper arm grazing the shelf below the one that Kalia often needed a ladder to see reach. His back was turned to her, book open in hand, leaving Kalia shocked. She thought she must have made a noise, because he had torn his light eyes from the inky words of the page and rested them on her dark ones. Kalia couldn't help her thoughts, scattering over from different, confused parts of her brain.

He was so...

Here, of all places? This was-

Just my luck. How-

Handsome can someone get? I-

Have never seen a man with so much masculine beauty, he was doing something to me... he was... he-

Interrupted her messy train of thought, snapping the book shut just in a strong, swift motion, causing her to jump.

He leaned negligently against the shelf, crossing his arms, the book still in grasp of his strong, tan fingers, fighting back a snicker. The light pants showed off every muscle in his long, lean legs; his dress shirt doing the same for the length of his torso, only a few buttons at the top left untouched, exposing the light golden-brown skin of his taut chest. The silver piece that hung from his neck fascinated her, glinting against the contact of the amber afternoon light seeping through the Parisian glass door balcony. Soft yellow streaks and swirls from the lines on the doors marked his skin, reflecting off his eyes appearing them to glow like white gems. His stance, his eyes: they both communicated arrogance and contempt, and something else in between. "Are you going to stand there all day with your mouth wide open, or are you going to say something?"

Elec smirked as he watched the innocent look fade into a scowl on the face of the beautiful girl before him. He wondered if he would ever stop enjoying the obvious effect he was having on her.

He decided that he wouldn't.

Kalia still couldn't find the words to articulate to give him a proper piece of her mind. Her attention turned back to the book in his hand, one of her favourite classics. It looked much better in his hands, but she would never bring herself to admit that matter of opinion she held deep, deep down.

She took a step into the library, her flats meeting the glossy wooden floorboards. "I didn't take you for the type that read books."

Something in his eyes sparkled. "And why not?"

"I was under the impression that you didn't even know what a book was," she snarks, crossing her arms over her chest. Her expression and the fire in her eyes were arguably having the same effect on him that he was having on her. The other princesses were boring. Too compliant. They hadn't been what he had wanted. But this one... she had fire. It lit a spark in him, when the words would usually offend him, if they came from another person's mouth.

"I was wondering what this was," he holds back a laugh, placing the book back where he'd found it on the shelf.

"Your father must be proud to know he has to leave his Kingdom in your hands."

Kalia almost immediately regretted the words that came from her mouth when his eyes quickly turned cold. Even being bound by fury at possibly having everything taken away from her at the click of his fingers hadn't blinded her from the fact that she had just stepped over a line.

He crosses the room to make his exit, but not before leaving Kalia with a few words that made her stomach churn.

"And even prouder to know that you will be running it with me."
