Chapter Six: Birthday Blowout

"Get everything set up but do not wake up the birthday girl!!" Alexis yelled at the catering crew.

It was 6AM on a Saturday morning. Leah awoke to the smell of bacon and fresh coffee brewing from the kitchen. She had a hang over that made her never want to drink again. Leah rolled over to find her partner missing from the bed. "Where the fuck could she be?" Leah thought to her self. She checked her phone, no missed calls or texts, something was wrong. Leah prayed to god Ava hadn't found out about last night.

Leah threw on a big t-shirt and scurried downstairs. Ava was coming through the front door extremely nonchalant like she hadn't been missing all night!

"Well hello motherfucker." Leah said sarcastically to Ava.

"Hey baby! Why you up so early?" Ava responded, greeting Leah with a kiss on the cheek.

"Why the fuck you getting in the house so late?" Leah was about to go off!

"Why are you cussing so much?

"Because your donkey ass has decided to carry your tail back in this house at six in the morning like it's okay! You playing shit real cool. Ava you've never done anything like this before. I see when you're back in your home town you forget how to act!"
Leah tried to walk away but Ava grabbed her arm and snatched her back.

"Listen smart ass I was with Tania last night. I had to track her ass down and once I did she was sloppy drunk in a hotel. She was talking about killing herself so I stayed with her." Ava explained.

Of course Leah felt stupid. "I'm sorry babe. Where is she now?"

"I'm not sure. When I woke up she was gone, I was hoping she had made it back here but I guess not."

Alexis walked up and joined the conversation.
"Glad to see you made it home. I need you both to start getting ready! Breakfast is almost ready and I'll be waking Nevaeh up soon! GO! NOW!"

Leah and Ava hurried back to their room and got cleaned up. Everyone was seated at the table by 7AM, patiently waiting for the birthday girl. Alexis soon carried Olivia out on her hip and everyone started singing happy birthday. Alexis sat her down in her special chair, placed a crown on her head, and introduced what was on the breakfast menu for today.

"Today we'll be having Princess Olivia's favorite breakfast: Chocolate chip princess crown pancakes, eggs, sausage and toast with a whole lot of apple juice! Dig in everybody!"

The house was finally peaceful. The vibes weren't even forced, everyone was passing food around the table happily, enjoying each others company.

"So Princess Olivia what's on your royal to-do list today?" Gianna asked.

"Well, after breakfast, mommy Lex and I are going to the mall to pick up my princess dress and do some other shopping. Then me and my best friend are going to get our hair, nails, and makeup done! And then we're coming back here." Olivia explained.

"Yes. And while we're gone you four will be preparing her princess tower and waiting on her other friends to arrive." Alexis added.

Dante looked up with the biggest confused looked on his face. "Me too?" He asked with a mouth full.

Olivia spit out her juice from laughing so hard. "Yes you too silly!"
Her laughter was so contagious everyone joined in. The atmosphere was so incredibly bliss.

The day carried on. Everyone was right on schedule. 3:00 rolled around and Olivia's friends had started to arrive. Leah and Gianna were passing out birthday crowns and tutu's as the girls came through the door.

"I got a funny feeling about today Lee." Gianna said to her best friend.

"Why?" Leah asked.

"Today has been a blast. I love Olivia and all the girls. Just feels a little bit to good to be true."

"I understand, honestly. Alexis has become known to bring nothing but drama, but who knows? People change. It could turn out to be exactly what we'd hoped it would be."

Gianna killed those dreams quick.
"Or our worst fucking night mare. Just keep your eyes open kid." Gianna left the conversation and showed a few of the girls to the back. She really made Leah think.
Leah just stood there praying to herself that today would not end bad.

Leah stayed on her toes throughout the entire party. She noticed that while Tania was gone everything was at peace and she made it a priority to keep it that way. She kept shit steady until the end of the party when Alexis came to her with the wrong conversation at the worst time!

Alexis walked up on Leah while she was cleaning up trash on the inside of the house.
"So, that text from last night..." said Alexis.

"Right now lex? Really?" Leah asked.

"Yes. Everyone is outside swimming including Ava. You leave tomorrow, I've been waiting all day for a good time."

Leah rolled her eyes. "No. Lets just forget about it, It was a drunk mistake and I regret it. I'm in love with your sister. Let it go."

Ava butted into the conversation. "What was a drunk mistake?" She asked Leah. Ava was listening from another room the whole time.

"Who's watching the kids? Leah asked nervously.

"Gianna is. Answer me!" Ava demanded.

The room went silent for a second.

"... Lex gave me head last night." Leah finally answered timidly.

Ava's heart sunk to her stomach. "Oh my god." She whispered under her breath.

The front door slammed open. "WHERE THE FUCK IS GIANNA??" In came Tania yelling, ready to fight.

Dante walked up behind Leah. "What the fuck is going on?"

"I see both of y'all still here with yall bitches!" Tania yelled.

Alexis was stuck. "Wait? Who?"

The room fell dead silent and Leah grew restless. She honestly could not hold it in anymore.

"Dante is Bubba." Leah blurted out. "But he's with Gianna now so that's probably why Tania got ghost last night."

Alexis was infuriated. "Hold on bro you brought yo rabbit head ass to my house, slept in my guest room, and ate my food... When you've been fucking my wife?!" She asked Dante.

"And I fucked your wife Leah." Tania added.

"Excuse me?!" Leah asked.

"Last night. She came to my rescue and I just couldn't help it. How does it feel?"

"BITCH YOU GOT THE RIGHT ONE" Leah screamed.

Several arguments had broke out. Everyone was screaming, cussing, getting in each others faces, trying to prevent fights. They were too busy bickering to realize Alexis had left the room.

All screaming was ceased by the sound of a gun being cocked back. Alexis had returned to the room ready to make a decision she'd always regret.

"Twin... I know you love Leah... But I am in love with Leah... and if I can't have her... Neither of us can."

Alexis fired two shots straight for Leah's head but, Ava pulled her down just in time. Both bullets continued through the glass patio door and went straight into Gianna's back. She was in mid-air jumping into the pool when she was hit. When she landed the water quickly turned from blue to red and all the girls in the water fled, screaming for help.

Dante waisted no time. He ran out and jumped in the pool, hoping to make it before she took her final breath. He carried her to a lawn chair and began performing CPR. Alexis started gathering all the children and escorting them from the scene. Ava dialed 911 and Leah...
Just stood there. She froze. Leah went completely breathless as she watched her best friend fight for her life. One lone tear ran down her cheek.

She was dead inside.
