What's going to happen? Ooo. Lauren's mom admits to something that Lauren and Jackson never knew. This book is starting to get more serious guys. But wait! What will happen if Lauren finds an old number and calls her father?
---------------------------------------------------------
She what?!
All this time I was mad at my dad and I found out he left because she cheated on him. I don't blame him for leaving. I would probably leave too.
"Mom what happened?" I say in a commanding voice.
She starts crying a little harder. I felt sorry before but now I'm too angry with her to feel bad. All these years I thought that it wasn't safe to trust anyone because of what happened to my mom. But now I know that the whole time my mom was the one who shouldn't be trusted. When she said some people can't be trusted, she was referring to herself.
"When I got pregnant Lauren, I didn't know who the father was." She struggles out.
"I started thinking that you didn't belong to your father." She says. "I couldn't lie anymore, I told him what I did."
"When he found out the child wasn't his and I cheated on him, he left."
There was a pause from my mother. And then she started talking again
"After you were born it turned out that he was your father. But by that time there was nothing I could do. I still cheated on him and I knew he wouldn't forgive me. I never told him that he was your father." She starts crying into her hands.
All this time I hated my father without even knowing the truth. He doesn't even know that I'm his daughter. He has a right to know about his own children.
"Does Jackson know?" I ask.
"No." She answers.
Immediately I storm off to Jackson's room leaving my mom to cry in her bedroom.

"What?" Jackson says.
"Are you kidding me? Mom cheated on him?" He says.
"Mom just told me." I say.
"He doesn't even know that we're his kids!" I yell.
I am so frustrated right now. I can't believe my mom would do something like that. And by doing so she ruined our childhood. We grew up poor in a tiny apartment. I had no friends, and Jackson had his issues since he grew up without a father.
"Lauren we need to find our dad."
"Wait what?" I ask.
Is Jackson crazy? How are we going to do that?
"Listen we will ask mom who he is and we can find him. She must remember something. Like his phone number or something." He says.
That's actually a pretty good plan. But I'm not in the mood to talk to mom so Jackson is going to have to do it.
"Okay. Go ask mom."
****
Jackson has been talking to mom forever. Has she told him anything? Suddenly Jackson comes out of her bedroom. He doesn't look happy. He's probably as mad as I am.
"I got a name and a phone number." He says handing me a piece of paper.
This is perfect, now we can call him. I'm a little nervous though. What if he doesn't want to talk to us because we are still the kids of the woman who cheated on him? I mean it's been seventeen years, he's probably moved on by now. What if he has had other kids? What if I have more siblings?! Ooo, this is exciting and terrifying at the same time. Me and Jackson head to his room and sit on his bed.
