Chapter 14

Michelle's Childhood
      I was 8 when I realized the true meaning of loneliness and pain, I had tried to hide it from myself but I couldn't.
     It was a sunny afternoon while I was drawing one of the things I was good at,a hibiscus flower it seemed to give me hope anytime,I always felt like it kept me safe.
"Hey Michelle"A boy shouted, he was one of the problems I had in school, he was a bully and always seemed to take every opportunity to harm me since I couldn't stand up for myself.

"What is it?"I said softly.

"Gimme that"he dragged the book which I was drawing on and looked into it.

"Just a bunch of lunatic stuffs,why don't I tear it guys"He turned and heard his friends cheer.

"Give me back"I struggled to get it back but I couldn't, he was really tall and I just looked like an ant compared to him. He pushed me to the ground and laughed ,I felt really angry when I heard him say"you orphan",I stood up and wiped the dirt from my face and stared at him.
"What are you staring at?"He glared at me ,I heard whispers in my head and suddenly, the book was in my hand .
"What was that?"I heard his friends murmur.

"What's going on?"I said to myself, how did it get to me?, the bully looked amazed and opened his mouth widely.
"Witch!!!!". He yelled.

"I'm not a witch"He removed a book from his bag and threw it towards me and his friends did the same thing.
      I turned to the road and run away from them, the only problem was that they followed me. I had no choice but to enter the forest and their voices faded.
      I hid at the back of a tree and gasped One of the days I wished I had a sibling, someone to protect me from this horrible world.

"Are you okay?"I wanted to stand up and run but it wasn't one of the boys who insulted me, it was a strange boy.

"Yes,I just had trouble"I said.

"You are little too young to be here"

"I know right"

"Do you want water?,you're breathing heavily"

   He jumps down and I thought he would break his bones but he didn't, he came out where there was sunlight and passed a bottle, he had blue hair and catlike eyes and around the same age as I was.

"Thanks"I opened the bottle to drink.

"Why were they chasing you?"

"Bullies, nothing else they accused me of being a witch"

"Why?"

"I stared at my book and it came to me,how about you what are you doing here?"

"I live here to avoid troubles,you humans always make"

"Do you have a family?"

"There are not here and you?"

"Just my mother"

"So you're a loner"

"Probably"

"Hey,we can be friends"

"Really, thank you but I don't know your name"

"My name is Zachery"

"My name is Michelle"

        Few months later, Zachary and I became best friends we always played together in the woods only that my mom didn't like me going there,there was something I couldn't really count other than a friend who's just like me  later I started noticing Zack was acting strange.
"Hey Zack"I giggled climbing a tree.

"Michelle, get down from there please"

"Catch me if you–"I slipped and fell down injuring myself."Ouch,blood. Zack please can you get water,I don't want my mom to see this she'll panic,Zack?"

He just stared at me and his eyes changed.
"Michelle, run please,I don't want to hurt you"

I took few steps back and started running what was wrong with Zack.

       After that incident, Zack started avoiding me every time I went to the forest he wouldn't be there. I was now alone, there were days I wanted to give up but I just couldn't. Everyone in class had friends to share their stories with but I didn't have anyone,I pretended to act like I didn't care but it had greatly affected me.
    Years past and actually I befriended a girl named Hailey Carl ,we were actually the most bullied in class so we got used to each other.
"Hey, wanna grab lunch at Daisy's Restaurant"she asked.

"Sorry,tight schedule"

"Helping your mom aren't you"

"Exactly, if dad was around things would be easier —"I felt someone grab my hair tightly,it was the popular girl in school Selene Richie,one of the worst bullies I've ever had.

"Hey Micks, you forgot right?, spill out your lunch money"

"I don't have any–"I struggled, she was about to rip my hair out of my head before someone came out, made everyone faint except me and Selene. He grabbed Selene and ran to the forest swiftly. I ran towards the direction he followed, I needed to help her even though she despised me . I heard her scream and I ran forward.

"All done"he said turning to face me.

"Zack"I whispered,he had fangs and looked different I wanted to run but he appeared in front of me.

"Where do you think you're going Michelle, how old are you now?,14 I guess. Stop shaking cause I won't harm you. You should have just ran away without bothering to look for her. Am sorry but I have to do this,you don't have to remember any of this". He placed his hand on my shoulder and I started feeling sleepy,I felt myself fall down and he disappeared.

"Michelle"I heard my mom,where am I?.

"Mom"I said standing up.

"Don't Mom me, didn't I tell you to not look for Zack,he was at our place for a long time."

"Zack's back?, I thought he left town"

"No,dear"

"Michelle!". What was I doing here,and why is Zack.

"I told you she'll be hear Mrs Holly"

      Why was I here,I couldn't understand everything faded away and I opened my eyes it was blurry.

"She's awake"I heard and I saw everyone gazing at me,what happened?.
