Hello!!

We finished off a wonderful session with Sarah Benson who answered many questions you might've had in your head about Wattpad popularity, getting more readership, and other queries!

Great responses we saw here though! We loved the ideas you had here so let's take a look at some of the MAIN components everyone wants when reading a book:

- Readable and Understandable Grammar, Punctuation, and Spelling; this is really important and everyone did a great job of pointing that out because if you're not able to understand the text, there's no way you can understand the story. To add onto that, you can tell the quality of the story just by judging the grammar and spelling.

- Interesting Plot; this is a good point here because so many of us have read books where there's a generic title and then the book...is...so...repetitive! This can also mean that a book is overly cliché! Now, don't get us wrong; it's OKAY to have a cliché book if you intend to for the audience you have! But other than that, remember that your audience will get TIRED if you don't focus on the plot.

- Dialogue and Description; why this is important is because if you have one less of another then the reader gets BORED. How many of us read a book and all it had was description? You probably skimmed through the paragraphs looking for closure to at least some dialogue! Same goes for the other way around! If you need to add more description due to a high imbalance of dialogue...then do so!

- Cover; okay so this is something that's DEFINITELY a category you all mentioned in your needs for a good book! And we can see why! People say that you shouldn't judge a cover by its book - but let's just say that the saying is too old for its good now. These days, everything, is relied on its looks for and that includes Wattpad BOOKS!

If someone cannot read your cover legibly, read the authors name and predict what your story is about... Your cover is useless. If you need to change your cover, there are so many talented people who can help you out on wattpad - but even if you don't want to be on an obligation of another... It doesn't take much to make a cover! Just select an image matching your book's content and open up Pixlr or PicMonkey. Select texts to add and voila!

So we had to cut a lot of things short here because we want to expand on a lot of this in another session of our workshop! So that's all for now, we look forward to the next workshop session which we'll post in a couple of days!

Thanks for your participation!
