Sara always knew.
She always talked to us the past decade. She always believed. Sara will never admit it but she believed that My family and I were there. Her parents thought she was crazy, but she wasn't. She still isn't.
I was always there for her. I'm the one that made her believe. I never showed myself just like I was told to.
Today was different.
Today she was 18. She turned 18 last week but I didn't have the chance to tell her. My friends and I only see each other once a year and that's at the Spook Convention in Spook City. I was gone last week.
I couldn't show myself last week but now I can.
I can show myself. I've wanted to say for 10 years. The Spooky Law states that you are not allowed to show yourself to any Human being unless you are and the Human are 18 years or older. I turned 18 two months ago in April. Being able to see and show Sara was the best deathday present that I could possibly get.
I never knew how Sara would react. I knew she would be fine in the end. I never expected what she did do.
I used the sacred word of the ghost. "Boo." No just kidding.
I just snapped. I appeared with a smile maybe too big of a smile that made me look like a monster. I said "Hi!" as enthusiastically and friendly as I could manage.
Sara was scared. She wasn't just Scared she was terrified. Only for a moment, though.
Sara almost ran and she almost fainted too but, she just stood there like I was one of the paintings in the vast room we were in. Sara started to look like she was studying me. So I moved.
I walked closer to her and repeated my introduction. "Hi! I'm Will."
"Hi," Sara said in disbelief. "I'm Sara." She almost started to sound like she was talking to a normal human being, which was all I ever wanted her to do.
I could see her clearer now that I wasn't behind the ceiling barrier that made everything under it look like water. Sara had long brown hair and she intricately braided her hair into two french braids that went over her shoulders and were pulled forward to where they sat just above her chest. Sara had beautiful chocolate eyes that were complimented by the lot of freckles that sat on her nose and cheeks. She rarely wore makeup and when she did it was for a special occasion. She was naturally beautiful and you could see she acknowledged it. Her clothes were simple yet so like her. She wore a simple coral v-neck t-shirt and faded blue jean shorts. Accessorized with her white daily step counter (DSC) and her white socks that she normally wore with flats. Sara was about her dad's height of 5 feet, four inches and has the same figure as her mom. She was lean but had a nice hourglass shape. She was pure and beautiful. At that time she wore her glasses to examine the art and photography on the wall. They were black Ray Bands, whatever those are.
I must have gotten lost in looking at her because she was now circling me. Doing the same thing I was doing to her. Analyzing, looking at another world from the one we were standing in. It was different but nice. We could see each other, what we actually looked like. Standing in the same room, together.
