Chapter Six: Words of Will- Later Tonight

The butterflies in my stomach peaked to a maximum level. I was blushing and I was sure of it. My head looked inward to my chest with my eyes bulging. Sara must have thought I was looking at her.

"Is everything okay?" She asked concerned.

"Everythings perfect," I smiled. "I was just looking to make sure there weren't any metaphorical butterflies coming out from my chest."

She laughed with a big grin on her face. I stared into her beautiful brown chestnut eyes. Everything was perfect when she was around. She was perfect. The way she smiled and laughed and teased. It was amazingly perfect.

We were interrupted by feet stepping on the hardwood beneath us. Sara quickly sat up in embarrassment. I did the same with my back shooting into a perfect wooden board.

"Sorry to interrupt," Anne giggled "but your dinner is ready."

Mary walked in as well with a tray with silverware and food identical to Anne's. Mary giggled as well, knowing what Anne had just walked in on. They leaned over giving us our food and smiled as they walked off the gazebo they gossiped, very loudly may I add.

Sara and I looked at the bouncing heads skipping down the hill and looked back at each other. I smiled sheepishly and that turned into a laugh. Sara did the same and we laughed for what felt like a lifetime.

"Wait, I have a joke," I said stopping the laughing "What did the skeleton say before dinner."

"What?" She looked at me with kind eyes.

"Bone appetite." I laughed.

She laughed with me. "Nice pun. Bone appetite it is then." Raising the glass of apple cider.

The glasses clinked as we said in unison "Bone appetite!"

The food was absolutely delicious. Yet I'm not surprised. Anne is vocally talented one.  I'm the instrumental one and Marie is the chef and the baker of the house. All of us cary one talent from our mom. My mom is a talented woman.

The dinner was carried on by Sara and I got to know one another. What it was like living in the ghost world. I through some jokes into to it as I always did in a comfortable conversation and Sara always laughed with her lips perfectly framing her mouth. Maybe it was the warm food or the delight of having Sara near me but I just wanted to lean in and kiss her again if she would let me. I prevented myself from so graciously leaning in and make her unintentionally stop talking. Later I said. Later tonight.
