Oh, My God.
This is Will's mom. This is Will's mom and I just spilled a pile of books on her. Damnit.
"You're... you're," I paused to take a deep breath, "You're Will's mom."
I looked over to Will smiling with my eyes darted into his soul. I couldn't even believe he did that to me. He just stood there smiling and covering his mouth from time to time trying to keep from laughing out loud.
I put my hand out for a handshake "Hi Mrs..."
She walked over to me with her arms out to signal a hug.
"Mrs. Singer, I would hope that you would know my son's last name." she said with welcoming smile.
"I do Mrs. Singer, but my parents use separate last names for their companies. I have learned to be polite with last names," I gave a small smile concerned for my relationship with her.
"Of course," she came in for a hug and I hugged her back, "Please call me Amy, all of Will's friends do."
Her body felt so warm and welcoming. Something that I had not felt in a long time with my own mother. Suddenly I felt right at home and relaxed my chest, my shoulder, and all the thoughts racing through my mind with all the possible ways I could mess up in this situation. Unfortunately, I probably just pulled every possible embarrassing situation in a span of 5 seconds of meeting her.
"I wish I could talk some more, but I have research that needs to be done for the ghost council," she sighed picking up a pile of books and what looked like her notes, "I hope to have dinner soon Sarah." she walked out of the room with a smile and I turned around to a gleeful Will.
"Suprise!" He exclaimed.
"You have no idea." I walked over to him and sighed with relief.
I looked around the room and smiled. There were rows and columns filled with books that I had read over the years. Some unfinished bought for me as gifts. Others never had been read by me but had been worn because they came from the used bookshop in town. I always liked used books more. They had stories behind them, where they came from, who read them, how they were used. It was a mystery, every single one of them.
Will must have seen my face of awe, "You really love this place. Don't you?" he grabbed my arm and me into his chest, he proceeded to hug me.
"You have no idea," I looked at him and smiled weakly, "This is my home away from home, where I can read stories with a happy ending and good parent. Romances that take my breath away and..."
I stopped talking and closed my eyes because his warm lips touched mine. A sparkle of magic went up and down my body and wouldn't stop flying around. I grabbed his head and pulled it closer, never wanting to let go. I was still in shock every time he kissed me, wondering how I deserved this magic surging through my body. Will pulled his head back hesitantly, just like me not wanting to stop.
"Did that take your breath away?" he sang as he grinned.
"Every single time it takes my breath away," I said slightly out of breath with the stupidest smile on my face.
"Then your romance is right here in front of you." He gushed.
And somehow I knew that he was right. That the only romance I needed was this amazing guy right in front of me. He's the reason I'm incredibly happy right now. He's the reason why I can't stop laughing. He's the only person that is in front of me, and somehow I knew he wouldn't leave.
