*Hayden's POV*

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you." I say.

"It's okay. But does it bother you?" He asks.

"Does what bother me?"

"What people think. Do you believe it?"

I shrug.

"No. I mean it's weird because when I was with Tyler, it was like I was untouchable. Being with the most popular guy in school gets you somewhere. So being called a slut? It's different. But I'm fine." I say honestly.

"You're not a slut. So I'm happy you don't think so."

"Thanks."

"If anyone should be called names, it's Tyler. He can't even accept me as a part of the team. And he's whiny about it."

"Don't say that. No one deserves to be called names. And as for you being part of the team, it's hard for him. He's worked really hard to get where he is."

"Coach said that too."

"Well he's right." I say.

"Is there a reason you're defending him?"

"It's the right thing to do. Also, two weeks ago we were together and in love." I say without thinking.

"Do you still?"

"Hm?"

"Do you still love him?"

"Honestly?"

He nods.

"Yes." I say simply.

"Okay."

"My heart isn't aching after him or anything. It's just gunna take some time to get over it completely. He was my first love." I say the last part a little quieter.

"I can accept that. If I were to get jealous over every guy you've been with, then I'd be asking you who that is." Aaron says, pointing to my board where there's the picture of me and Wes that I was looking at before.

I laugh.

"That's Wes. And you have nothing to worry about. He's gay." I tell Aaron.

"Really? Not to be homophobic or stereotypical or anything, but he doesn't look like it."

"He gets that a lot actually."

"You guys close?"

"Very. He's one of my best friends."

"Cool. Where's he now?"

"Canada."

"Classy."

I chuckle.

"Yeah. He's coming to visit this weekend actually."

"Awe I have to share you?" He teases.

"You'll live."

"Hopefully."

"Maybe you could meet him? He's pretty protective of me, it could be like meet the parents practice edition?" I suggest.

Aaron shrugs.

"Sounds good. Just call me whenever."

"Will do." I smile.

"So what do you wanna do?"

"My parents are home, so don't suggest anything." I kid.

"That's too bad." He whispers, coming closer.

I feel heat rise to my cheeks.

"Is it?" I ask.

He nods, leaning in.

Our lips meet and I smile into the kiss.

"Didn't stop you from doing that." I say.

"Yeah, well."

"I'm not complaining." I say as I attach our lips again.

"So is PDA really off limits? Because I'll respect it if that's what you want." He asks once we pull away.

"I was lying. I'm fine with it, really. But thank you for respecting me."

"I can be good." He says it like a fact.

"As you've proven."

His phone dings and he curses after checking a text.

"What's wrong?" I ask him.

"Uh.. Nothing. I gotta go. See you later?" He rushes.

"Sure. Is everything okay?" I ask, concerned.

He nods quickly.

"Of course. I just need to take care of something."

"Okay..." I trail off, not really believing him.

"See you." He kisses me just as quickly as he's out the door.

I'm left confused.
