POV: Lillian

I made it back to the castle just before the chefs woke up. Morning light had just began to flitter through the curtains and weave it's way throughout the castle.
While tiptoeing my way up the stairwell, a voice cuts through the silence.
"Oh Lily, what are you doing out of bed?"
I turned around and saw a little old maid, shaking hands folded in front of her and kind ,chocolate eyes staring inquisitively.
"I didn't sleep very well so I went for a walk."
"Why, where did you walk to, Your Highness."
She said, tilting her head curiously, resembling a bird.
"Ju-just a stroll," I stuttered out," Along the forest, through the trees.".
Curses! I just admitted to being in the forest! If they find Daniel I don't know what I'll do.....
"You know you're not supposed to be out of the castle after dark!" She exclaimed.
I nodded my head slowly in mock disappointment, "I know, I know" I said solemnly,"I just need to get out of this stuffy castle.". The maid nodded and smiled kindly, the kind of smile that every elder carries.
I continued up the stairwell to my room.
When I made it to my room I saw a small slip of paper on my bed, written in perfect swirling print that I knew all too well. The name signed at the bottom made my stomach churn.

Hello, my dearest sister. Care to join me for tea on the terrace? It will go lovely with the party that will be thrown when the kingdom announces my return!
