Well at least they're all better classes than regular school. I could still have math. I'm actually kind of excited now. I shoved my "Caring For Dragons" book in my locker and hurried to class. I really don't want to be the last one in the classroom. Sadly the world was out to get me because when I walked in the classroom all eyes turned to me. Man do I hate it when people stare at me. Some people recognized me from this morning and turned their heads to the floor, and the others were to stupid to figure it out.
I don't know how they could forget my light green eyes and dark brown hair. Considering I also gave them all the finger this morning. Usually I'm shy but I feel so comfortable here. The teacher cleared her throat and started to speak in a velvet like voice. "You must be Miss. Ocean why don't you tell us a little about your self."
I cleared my throat really loud just to make sure everyone was looking at me. "Hi I'm Erika Ocean, I turned 17 not to long ago. I don't know if I'm a elemental yet. I prefer that you stop looking at me like I'm some sort of fresh meat. I haven't met my dragon but I know what it looks like due to my amazing art skills and brain. I don't really know what else you NEED to know so I'll stop talking."
The teacher then pointed to a open seat next to a guy who was inspecting his nails. His blonde bed head hair lay messily on his head and his nails were unskillfully painted a baby blue. They almost matched his blue eyes. I swear all the hot ones are gay. When I sat down he turned to me smiling.
"Hi I'm Jay, and in case you couldn't tell I'm gay. Hey that rhymed! I admire you so much for what you did when you first walked in. Girl that was fabulous. You've created quite the image for yourself. Nobody has ever met someone quite like you."
I was flattered, I also think I made my first friend in awhile. The teacher started the lesson so I just nodded my head in a silent thank you to him. The lesson hadn't even got far in when a paper ball hit the side on my head. I looked over at Jay to see him innocently looking around as if he didn't do anything.
Wanna sit with my friends and I at lunch

Scribbling down an answer I crumbled it up. When I was 100% positive the teacher wouldn't see, I chucked the ball back at his head.
Sure. Thanks I really didn't want to be the awkward turtle.

I then proceeded to sit through an hour of history. It was truthfully a lot more entertaining than regular American history. We didn't learn about the Revolutionary War, World War I, World War II, or even 9/11. We just learned about the Elemental Wars, Dragon War, and Elemental Rider. Right now we're learning about the first Elemental War. I guess you could say certain Elemental's didn't get along at first. Water and Earth got along perfectly, because Water helped Earth grow. Fire and Air got along, because air spread fire to different places.
As you can guess a war occurred between the four. We were almost all dead, almost extinct. They all came to an agreement to stop as long as no interactions were to come between each type of Elemental. Each Elemental group would be isolated from the rest.
Before I knew it it was time for Elemental practice. The class was outside so we could be closer to the elements. Surprisingly enough Jay was in the class with me as well. As soon as he stepped outside he took off his shoes. His toes even began to curl in the dirt. It wasn't hard to tell he was a Earth Elemental. Sighing in contentment Jay walked over to a flower who's bud had not yet bloomed yet. His finger barely touched the top before it began to bloom.
It was the most beautiful flower I had ever seen. The center started out a dark red, then faded to an orange, next yellow, and the tips were a radiant purple. My jaw probably dropped to the ground. Jay turned around to see my shocked expression and smirked.
"Honey don't be so surprised, I have many talents. Sadly you don't, so lets go find them, starting with fire."
We made our way to what looked like a small volcano. A few students were there chucking fire balls at each other. I remember stories of the trials from each element my dad had to do. A cup was placed in front of me and within it was an everlasting flame. Placing my hand near the fire I waited to see if it started to get hot, it never did. I then submerged my hand it the fire and relaxed. It felt nice around my hand, like I belonged there. Now I know I'm defiantly a Fire Elemental.
I knew that I would still have to take the other challenges just incase. We than made our way to the air test. People were flying above our heads and chasing each other in circles. There were five items I would have to move with the air only. A toothbrush, an apple, a 5lb weight, a 10lb pound weight, a glass, and a refrigerator. Yeah they were pretty random but that was the point.
I sat down in front of the items. Having no idea how to make them levitate I say there like an awkward turtle. Rise, I thought, yet none of the items moved. RISE, yet still nothing even wobbled. RISE YOU STUPID THINGS, finally everything rose at the same time. By all the gasps heard, I could tell this wasn't normal. Tons of murmurs were heard around the small crowd that had gathered around me. I guess I'm also a Air Elemental.
Jay lead me to the next test, water. This test was kinda like the air one, I had to make a water in a glass move. Sitting in front of it I concentrated solely on the water. All of the sudden it was like a bomb was placed in the glass. The water exploded out of the glass making it known to everyone I was also a Water Elemental.
Everyone was biting their nails as I was placed in front of the last test earth. Before I could take the test the bell rang signaling it was time for the next class. I shoved people out of the way to make my way to my next class.
Could I be the next Elemental Rider?
I made my way to the gym where Hand to Hand Combat/ Weapon Class was. Luckily only a few other students were in this class because it was for beginners.
"Welcome class, eventually you will master every single weapon available at this school. You'll also learn hand to hand combat skills. First we'll start with the sword. You will learn and master this weapon. Study how you move with it. It's not just a weapon it's an extension of your arm. Swords are one of the most commonly used weapons here. Today you will practice sparing, just don't kill the other person."
The teacher's voice was deep, even for a guy. He looked to be in his late 20's but his eyes held so much wisdom. He passed each person a sword, each were very heavy. That was according to everyone else. It was light as a feather to me. I picked it up without a single problem. I skillfully swung it around, surprised because I had never even touched a weapon of any kind before. Everyone soon seemed to take notice. Soon nobody wanted to spar with me in fear that they would get hurt. The teacher took notice of this and decided to spar with me. I don't think anyone saw what was coming next.
With just a single flex of the sword, the teacher was on the ground with my sword at his throat. His sword was far away across the gym floor. I had pinned and disarmed him quickly, the teacher. The one who was suppose to teach us how to do that. Fear was clear in his eyes. My sword clattered to the ground as I ran out of the gym.
I'm a freak even to these people, I'm different.
