Kyle P.O.V
I was still fuming from my brother's reaction to Erika earlier. Now I'm normally not the jealous type but for some reason Erika just makes me feel different. She's been the first person that's talked to me in years. People always talked to Scott rather than me because he was always better.
Scott found his dragon first and learned to ride first. Scott always got any girl he ever wanted. Scott was the one with three elements while I was a little different. I didn't want to be what I am and I never asked for anything like this. Everyone knew to stay away from me but they never knew why. I wish I could tell her, but if I did she'd never talk to me again.
I sighed walking towards the woods where Lance was waiting. He whined and nudged my chest sensing my sadness.
"You can't change who you are Kyle she'll understand. You need to tell her before she finds out on her own and jumps to conclusions. I know you think she's different becuase she has become your friend in less than 24 hours. If you really care for her you will tell her who you really are."
I sighed running my hand through my hair which is a nervous habbit of mine. "You always know just what to say boy."
After staying with Lance for a little while longer I made my way back to the school. My ententions to go and tell Erika the truth. Even if we haven't known each other long she needs to know who I am before she becomes closer to me.
When I was out of the woods I realized Scott was teaching his class that's not what made me mad though. What made me mad was the fact that on Jade's back Erika was seated with Scott right behind her. He had his arms wrapped around her waist and was giving her instructions by whispering in her ear. This was his classic move he used on all the new girls in his class. Jade clearly looked ready to kill Scott with her eyes glowing what looked almost like a black color. Erika on the other hand looked so uncomfortable with the entire situation. I felt my eyes start to glow but before anything could happen I calmed down. That would have been an awful way for her to find out who I really was.
Jade made eye contact with me and nodded her head towards her back. I could see smoke coming out of her nostrils which I figured was my signal to stop what was happening. I made my way over steading my breath. When I went over towards Jade's side I got two different reactions from two different people. Erika look realived to see I was there while Scott looked annoyed.
"Scott what are you doing? Erika is clearly uncomfortable and Jade looks ready to eat you. Did you even ask Jade if she was okay with you hopping on her?" Jade snorted in agreement while shifting her weight back a forth. I sighed holding my hand out to Erika helping her down. I kept hold of her hand just to make Scott angrier, well not just to make Scott mad. Scott hopped off fuming with anger making sure I understood sending all his hate towards me.
"Go teach your class I'm pretty sure I can teach Erika how to ride" Scott looked ready to protest but when Jade sent him a glare he stopped and walked away.
I turned towards Erika to see her looking at me in what appeared to be graditude. She then launched herself at me wrapping her legs around my waist while hugging me. I caught her by her thighs and laughed. She felt right in my arms, almost like it's where she belonged. She hopped down a few seonds later and pulled her hair out from behind her ear. I could tell she was blushing but I didn't say anything because I proabaly was to.
"Sorry I was just happy you got me away from that pig you have to call your brother."She quickly covered her mouth like she was worried about what she said. I just laughed trying to show her it was fine. "Are you ready to actually learn how to ride now?"
I looked towards Jade signaling if it was alright I hopped on her back as well. She nodded her head and I wasted no time hoisting Erika on her dragon. I slowly followed making sure Jade was 100% okay with me getting on.
I then slowly wrapped my arms around her waist loosely just so she could shake them off if she was uncomfortable. After I handed her the reins she turned her head over her shoulder to look at me. My breath stopped and my heart picked up speed.
She was truly beautiful especially this close. Everything from her small nose to her deep bottomless emerald eyes was captivating. My stomach felt like there were a thousand little butterflies inside screaming to be let out.
"Now just relax and let yourself go. Trust Jade to take you where you need to go. Use the reins to make her turn by only pulling a little on one side. Now you'll get this weird feeling in your stomach but I promise you won't die. Let her show you the world."
We flew around for hours and I've never felt more alive. I was just an ordinary person with her, not the freak show I actually was. It was something that I never wanted to end but I knew it would. After we finished I helped her off and thanked Jade. Erika and I hung out for awhile just picking on each other about the others hair. Of course Scott would choose that moment to come and drag me away.
Once we were out of sight he turned to me his words full of venom. "What are you doing she's mine?! I think I've made that pretty clear."
"Listen Scott she's not a toy for you to play with. She's not just another one of your girls you can mess around with then dump. She's different and there's no way I'm going to let you play her."
"Oh is that so twiny bear? Just watch me steal her heart right in front of you. I bet she doesn't even know who or what you are. She's going to hate you when she finds out you little freak."
My heart stopped in my chest and I couldn't breathe. I knew he was right about what she'll think of me when she finds out. So now comes the question do I tell her?
