"What are you doing here?" I asked with a small mug on my face
"Your mom invited me"
"So you have no point of being here if we arent together anymore"
"Nyla stop it" My mom came from behind me "come on in Jeremiah"
He stepped passed me and went in. I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath remembering that not eveyone knows what happened between me and him. I walked back into the house and seen that Jacquees was mugging Jeremiah also.
He looked at me and i shrugged nodding my head towards my mom.
"Ny how are you and Jeremiah" My Grandma asked as I sat next to my dad and leaned on him
"We arent together anymore" I said
"Aw what happened"
"With all do respect grandma I really dont want to share it" I said respectfully
I heard Jeremiah chuckle and shake his head. I dont know if he thinks Im erong but he got another thing coming
"Ok yall come on and eat so we can enjoy this football game afterwards" My mom said standing up and leading everyone into the dining room the table was set and had about 20 seats. The food was on a separate table.
Everyone made there plate and took a seat at the table. And guess who I ended up sitting by
"Ny can you pass me the salt" He asked me. I rolled my eyes once again and gave it to me
"Thank you"
"Mhm" I continued to eat my food checking my phone here and there. I scrolled through instagram and came across a picture of a girl that goes to my old school. She had a picture of her and Jeremiah the caption read 'You wonder why your man went MIA for almost a month?🤔'
I looked over at Jeremiah and he was looking down smiling at his phone. I threw mine in his lap and got up walking out the back door
Here I am feeling bad about cheating on him but the whole time he was cheating on me. I sat on the step and held my head in my hands. I felt someone behind me. I already new it was Jeremiah
"Ny--"
"Shut up! Here I am feeling bad about what I did but you out here fucking around with her for who knows how long! Fuck you Jeremiah I aint do shit but love you and be loyal to your ass. I kind of glad I did what I did because now were even. Get the hell out of my mothers house and out of my life! I hope your dumb ass catch AIDs fucking around with that hoe" I yelled. He tried to grab my arm but I moved and slapped him as hard as I could
"Nyla what is your problem!" Mama said coming out the house. She looked at me then at Jeremiah
"He made me feel so bad but all along he was cheating. Im so done with you bullshit!" I pushed him
"Stop fucking hitting me yo" He said
"No because you always accusing me of ya bullshit that you wanna hide" I pushed him again and he shoved me back
"Jeremiah!" Mama yelled "Both of you quit it! Now"
"Fuck you" I pushed passed him and mama and went to my room. I slipped on my boots and coat and left out the house. Walking down the street I decided to go to a park where I always went when I wanted to be by myself
I sat on the swing and held my head down. Before I knew it the tears were flowing out of my eyes.

"Jacquees would you mind going after her" Jyla asked me as everyone looked confused as to what happened
"Yea sure" I put my sweat shirt on and walked out the house. I caught Nyla walk around a corner and decided to run up to her. When I got to the corner there was a park and I seen her on a swing with her head down
"Ny" I said out of breath
"Just leave me alone" I heard her sniff
"What you crying for ma" I squated infront of her
"He was the one cheating this whole time. I felt so bad about what I did to him but he was already fucking me over. Im so stupid" More tears fell down her face
"You aint the stupid one ma. He is. He did that. You did what you did because you felt neglected by him. Dont beat yourself up about it ma" I wiped her tears and pulled her into me
"I fucking hate him!"
"Stop crying Ny he aint worth ya tears ma. If he aint come after you he aint tryna fix shit" I lifted her head up
"Stop crying ok?" She nodded her head. I looked behind me then back at her pecking her lips. I felt her smile a little as she kissed me back
"Ok come on. Im missing the beginning of the foot ball game because of you" I stood up and pulled her off the swing.
We went back to her moms house and she had apologized for her out burst and leaving the house. Everyone finished eating and Ms.Jyla had gotten up to get the desserts.
"Guys we got apple pie, strawberry cheesecake, red velvet cake, and the family favorite cherry shortbread cookies" She said as she place everything on the table with the help of Nyla
"Jyla we coming here every year for thanksgiving now child" An older lady that Ive learn was Nylas grandma had said wild cutting her a piece of pie
"Oh no no mama we still gonna invade your house next year" She laughed.
"Jacquees why dont you head in there and watch the game with the boys. Im sure you dont wanna be in hear with us girls honey" My mom whispered in my ear
"Ok" I kissed her cheek and went into the basement

"So uh Mariah" My aunt Lala said as she ate on he second piece of pie
"Yes"
"How long have you and Mike been married"
"About 5 years"
"Yall dont have a child of yall own"
"Um" Mariah put her cup down on the table and adjusted in her seat
"I uh miscarried a girl about a year ago"
"Oh im sorry to hear that"
"Its fine ive lost one but gain a stepdaughter im proud to say" She smiled and rubbed my back

All my plans for the book happen after they graduate but ima make it work for yall
