4: The Adventure Begins

The Next Day

​Selena was startled by a knock on the door. A young girl almost half her age was standing at the door. She had an accent hard to understand but Selena was able to make out the sentence. The girl advised her there was a call waiting for her in the lobby.

​"Hey Selena, sorry to be calling so suddenly but Max was wondering what are your plans for today?". It was Nate over the line and she couldn't help herself but smile and feel shy. She did have an article to work on but she also needed a break from work. She looked at a flyer sitting on the counter with the picture of the town.

"I was planning to check out the town and maybe a stroll down the national park", She tried to make it sound like she had an exciting day planned ahead.

​"That's cool, well if you like, me and Max can be your tour guides. We can take you around?"

Selena fiddled with her thumb and thought about how boring it would be if she went around the places on her own. She decided she could use the opportunity to hang out with the boys, maybe fish out more information about them.

​"That would be great, I'll grab a cab to your place and come by around 11?"

"Sweet, see you soon", Nate hung up the line and went to update Max.

"Making plans without me, I see", Max made an annoyed re-mark.

"No, you are coming as well. I just used you as a way to make plans. See! You should feel special".

"Hilarious! Just help me move these to the shed", Max plopped heavy boxes on Nate's hand.

​It was sharp 11am when Selena arrived at the Jenson residence. She was excited to go out and explore the beautiful town. She went to knock the door and found it slowly opened by itself. She called out Nate and Max's name a couple of times but no one answered.

She stepped further into the house and walked towards the balcony and found Max giving his black Ferrari a wash.

​"Hey there!", Selena yelled out and waved at Max. He looked up and smiled at here, "Hey! Sorry I left the door open for you. We aren't ready yet, hope you don't mind waiting". Selena smiled at the thought that whenever she saw Max, he was always busy with his cars and even when he was cleaning he looked hot.

​"No rush, I can just wait here", She looked around to admire the alpines when her eyes landed on a small house located on the left.

​"Hey! I didn't notice you guys had another house. But why is there another house just behind this big house?", She asked, looking at Max confused. She walked down the stairs towards him, still admiring the beautiful structure.

​"That's Nate's little home", Max smiled and went towards the front of the car and leaned on the bonnet with his arms folded, flexing his muscles.

"What? Nate's house? Then what about...", She looked around to point at the giant house behind her.

"That's mine".

"I'm confused. You boys are weird. Where's Nate?"

​Max couldn't stop smiling, "His in his house", he gave a nod towards Nate's place. "Right, I forgot", Selena skipped towards Nate's house.

​"Nate! Love your new house but I am disappointed this wasn't part of the tour last night", Selena yelled out as she inspected the house. It was nice and clean, which made her think they must have maids around. The inside of the house looked cosy with a wide-open area concept. The kitchen was on the right, dining table placed in front of the counter and the living room right behind it. She noticed a wide door left open which she guessed was the master bedroom.
