Chapter six

{Libby}

Okay. I can already tell this is going to become a problem. As much as I will try to avoid constant arguing over this, it won't work because she will have to get her way with it. And on the other hand, I don't feel like ruining our friendship over something as stupid as this.

"Good."

Good? What kind of smart ass remark is that? Look, I could get used to this kid. I mean, he seems really sweet and he's not bad to look at either. It would be great if we could become friends- if Shawn would approve- but I think he would like him too.

I've had a pretty messed up past with guys. All the boys I would come across and showed any slight interest in, I would end up hurting them or getting hurt myself. So i really want to try and avoid that.

The only thing that's giving me skepticism is Jordan. I really don't want to screw us up. I know I keep saying this but it would truly bug me like none other. She's been my friend for god only knows how long.

The bright side of things is that my ankle is feeling better. A lot better actually, which is surprising because of the short time frame.

Aside from drama, this morning has been dreadful. I barley got any sleep last night and Jordan has been blowing my phone up. It's not that I don't care about her or anything, but I'm really not in the mood to hang out with anyone today.

The dream I had in my short sleep was crazy though. Something that had to do with Hayes feeding my horse organic baby food. Don't ask.

But today I'm heading to my dad's house and he is also taking me to get supplies for my science project I'm forced to do. We'll be heading to target, walmart and office max. My favorite supply stores.

I'm not completely sure yet what I will be presenting to the judges but I think I'm just going to wing it. This is wasting valuable time for something that disinterests me deeply.

My mom peeks her head in through my bedroom door to let me know my dad is here to pick me up for the weekend.

As I step downstairs I notice that my mom looks pretty angry. Not at me though, but at something outside. She motions for me to come see what she does and I don't think twice.

"Unbelievable." My mother scoffs while rolling her eyes. Her signature move. That's where I get it from.

Resting in our driveway is my dad's brand new 2016 switchback Harley-Davidson. The same one he's been wanting for some time now.

"Yo dad, this is sick," I stare in awe at the new beauty. "When did you get it?"

"About two weeks ago. Right after grandma and grandpa left for Florida." He laughs because we all know my grandma would kill him if she were here to witness this.

"Libby I do not allow you to get on this." She states and glances to dad. "I will drive her over there myself."

"Angela, c'mon. Don't be ridiculous. I know how to drive motorcycles." He defends.

"I don't care it's not safe. You've gotten hurt before, Drew."

"Mom! I'll be fine. I appreciate your consideration but I'll be fine."

Hell, I don't really care what she says. This thing will be so much fun.

Her face softens a little and she contemplates some more.

"Look, if she got hurt, Charlotte would hurt me. And so would you. There's nothing to worry about Ange." My father tries to convince her last nudge.
*if that makes sense 😂*
