Chapter 5

He takes me downstairs and everyone is still going strong. I couldn't find Faith and her new "boyfriend" so I asked if Jake wanted to go to my house. My parents were probably out on a date.

He says sure and we hop in his car. I point out which roads to go on. We get to my house and I throw my things on the table. Our house is a two story house that's like 100 years old. It scares the crap out of me.

"Nice house. It's very homey" he says giggling.

"Yeah it's pretty... It gets old though. I'm going to get changed because this thing is getting itchy." I say.

"That thing looks pretty uncomfortable.. I mean so much ski- anyways, I'll wait here". He responds

I go upstairs and take off the costume. I'll give it to Faith when ever I see her again. I bet she's okay.

I don't know what to pick out. I guess I'll just do pjs because whatever.

JAKES POV

I sat there starring out the window. It was pitch black but you could still see the woods.

The costume she was wearing. I hate to say it but it was hot. I normally see her as epic or awesome. But ever since I saved her I felt like she's a little lost kitten. It makes me happy seeing her. Or even when she posts a new selfie.

BELLAS POV

So I walked down stairs. His eyes widened as he saw my outfit.

I promise you it's not what you think.

"A pikachu onesie? HAHAHAH" he laughs

"Yes all my other soft things are in the wash. I know it's not expected." I say.

"Its cute. So what do you wanna do? Is there any movies?" He asked

"Well I have a few bucks so we can go to the old drive in.." I say

"That seems good, let's go. I'll pay for the food." He responds.

We head to the drive in and sit there waiting for the movie to start. He goes to get the food and I wait in the car.

I check my phone and I see Will texted me finally.

Will-I-Am: Where did you go today? You just left and I tried to chase after you but you went too far.

Clueless. I couldn't blame him though. Oh well I put down my phone and Jake gets to the car. He smiles as he takes a popcorn.

"Want some?" He asks.

"No, I'm fine. I ate some at the party." I say.

He gives me a face and throws a popcorn at my face. I make a face back at him and I throw it back. He keeps throwing more and more popcorn at me and I keep throwing it back. It was a giggle fest.

The movie started and it was Friday the 13th. Halloween is coming up for sure.

"So are you going to be scared?" He asks

"No, I'm not scared of this kind of stuff" I answered

After half the movie was over and I have laughed at people getting killed more than 3 times. He kept looking at me like I was crazy.

But then the movie stopped all of a sudden. The screen went red and I heard a bump on the window.

I have to admit I was pretty scared.

The car shuts off then I jump over to Jakes side holding his arm.

"JAAAAKKEEEE" I shriek

"HAHAHHA it's okay the movies over. It's just a cliff hanger." He says trying to calm me down

"The bump?" I ask

"I locked the doors" he responds

"The car turning off?" I ask again

"I just did that to add effect. Heheh" he says

"Damn you sir" I say going back to my side

"What do you want to do now?" He asks

"Well we have a few hours..." I say

"I have an idea. Wanna go on a road trip?" He starts

"It's 9. If we can get back before 1 then fine. But if not I'm not coming back in this car" I say

"I'm willing to take that risk" he says laughing

We get on the highway and I see dark shadows in the background.

"What're those?" I ask

"Mountains" he replies

"WE'RE GOING THAT FAR?!" I ask worriedly

"Relax, It'll be fun." He says.

We get on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere and now I'm scared.

"Jake... Where are we going?" I ask

"Somewhere I went when I was little. My favorite place." He says

I try to be quite and just stare out the window. Just corn. No houses. No people. It just continues.

Then I see some light blue in the sky. The stars. It reminds me of the ocean.

Then some green.

Then some purple.

Then some red.

And it comes to me.

Is this the place Faith was talking about?

He drives into this path in the corn. It drives slowly. I feel secure. Both of the sides are blocked. I have a boy who can actually pick me up in the car with me. So he can protect me.

There comes an opening and it's a giant square guarded by mountains. It's breath taking. The car stops and we get out of the car. I look down at my feet.

There's white specs on them. I look up a little looking at the grass. It's true. This place is true.

There was certainly stars shining on the grass. It felt like a dream.

It was freezing out, wind blowing in my hair, which reminded me of my dream.

I remembered.

There's still beauty in this world. Wether you see it or not.

There is still beauty.

We lay on the car windshield and the music is playing from the radio.

Just then "Kissing In Cars" by PTV came on.

Jake was looking up at the stars.

I turned to him and starred at his face. He looked so peaceful. He's beautiful.

"There's no, no such thing as too young, second chances won't leave you alone" came out of the radio.

Second chances. I do get a second chance.
