Hold On Til May (2013)

Chapter 6

I woke up and found myself in grass. We had been gone all night.

"Jake, wake up. It's like 6AM." I say.

"Oh... Let's go then" he says

His sleepy voice was so cute, it was soft but a little messy.

We got in the car and went home. He dropped me off and I went inside.

I find Faith on the couch with her hair messed up and she's still wearing a Katy Perry wig.

"Why are you here?" I ask

"That guys house is next to yours and I went here after he tried to do stuff" she says

"Glad you got away from him. But like now don't go outside of here alone. Kay?" I say

"Okay, but I have to go home or my mom will probably have a fit." She replies

Her normal house is a 5 min walk so we just skateboard there. It's a Sunday now and we don't do anything besides have little hangovers from doing something fun.

She goes inside and we say goodbye. I wonder what I should do next.

I don't want to go home.

Decided on texting Will if he wanted to do something, but then I realized what had happened yesterday.

Then I thought about Liz. Maybe she's free.

"Hey do you wanna do something today?" -Bella

"I'm currently in Cali... I have some news" -Liz

"Okay, what's the dealio?" -Bella

"I'm moving here and we're looking for houses. Connor is back at home since his club or whatever" -Liz

I forgot that Liz and Connor were siblings. They're twins.

"OMG!!! FOREVER? DID YOU TELL KATY?!?!" -Bella

"I don't plan on it. I think I'm just going to leave and not say anything then write her.... Going to leave Tuesday" -Liz

"Why wouldn't you tell her?! She'll be so broken if you don't give her at least a hug!!!" -Bella

"Just don't tell her" -Liz

She ends the call and I don't know how to react.

I ironically get a call from Katy.

"I'm so bored, wanna go watch Will play baseball?" -Katy

"Yeah I'll meet you at school" -Bella

I didn't want it to get out.

I meet up with her and she's wearing a sundress and sandals.

We go up to the field and see his bright and shiny face. Every Sunday he does this.

He turns to us and waves. Then goes back to practicing.

I turn to Katy and she looks at me

"Why did you leave yesterday?" She asks

"Well... I was feeling sick" I say

"But you ran? We could've helped" she says

"To be honest, when he gave you CPR, I kind of felt angry." I say

"Wait, you like him?!?" She asks

"No. Well. I don't know. I just felt jealousy. A giant ball of it." I respond

"Why would you be? He's always talking to you and hugging you..." She says

"Think about it this way, you're a natural blonde with blue eyes. Tan. Long legs. Skinny. Every boy likes you." I say
