Yugi couldn't believe it.

The assassin that had attempted to kill two of the people he cared about was his own brother, Heba. But this dark-skinned teen under him couldn't have been his brother; his brother died in a fire along with his parents.

"Heba?"

The assassin underneath him blinked before realization crossed his face. "Big Brother?" The teen said.

Before Yugi could say anything else, the guards came and took Heba away. Yugi, in too much pain because of the poisoned arrow, couldn't move to stop them. He could only sit there in shock.

"Yugi!"

Yugi snapped from his shock only to be confronted with a ton of pain. Not able to hold it in, he closed his eyes and screamed in pain. He then heard a voice calling for him and opened his eyes to come face-to-face with Yami, who had a worried expression.

Yugi winced as a shock of pain went through him. He didn't have long till he passed out. He looked at Yami. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you; my family was raised to be assassins. That was..." Yugi hesitated. "That was my little brother, Heba. Please, even if it costs my life, don't let him die." Yugi felt a wave of something indescribable go through him. He smiled at Yami sadly. "And I'm sorry."

And with that, Yugi's world turned black, and he fell into a pair of warm arms.

"No! Yugi, stay with me!"

Yami felt a tear fall down his cheek as Yugi fell into unconsciousness in his arms. Everyone watched in shock. Yugi, a slave, willingly risked his life to save his master. Yami felt so guilty.

'It's all my fault.'

He felt an arm on his shoulder and he looked up to see the face of his brother. "Brother, let us get him to Isis. Perhaps she can save him." Yami nodded and stood. "Shall I go check and make sure she is there?" Atem asked. Yami nodded and ran off, leaving Yami to pick up Yugi. He picked up his slave and bowed to his father before leaving for Isis's room.

Yami paced back and forth in the hallway, Atem silently watching him. Atem felt bad for his little brother; he, unlike his brother, was not oblivious. He knew Yami's true feelings for the young servant. And he would allow them to continue their relationship. Atem quickly came to a decision.

He would talk to the assassin.

Atem silently left his spot where he was leaning against the wall to where he knew the assassin would be. But before he could go too far, he heard his name being called and a hand gripping his sleeve.

"Atem..."

He turned his head to see his brother, pain showing on his face. He could see how much this was affecting his little brother, and it hurt Atem to see this. He turned and hugged his brother. "Do not worry, Brother. Yugi shall be fine; Isis is the best doctor and priestess in the palace. She will be able to help Yugi." He kissed his brother's forehead in comfort. "I'm going to go see the assassin."

"Don't hurt him." Yami said suddenly. Atem blinked in confusion. "He's Yugi's little brother. Yugi asked me... Yugi asked me not to let him get hurt. So please, can I trust you with this task?" Yami asked.

Atem smiled. "Of course, Little Brother."

:-:-:-:

"I order you to let me see the assassin."

Atem spoke with such authority that the guards that stood in front of the assassin's cell had no choice but to let him see Yugi's brother. They stepped to the side, allowing Atem to open the door, walk in, and close the door behind him.
