CHAP 3

I sat on the couch with Sin for what felt like 5 hours but must have only been 2, talking and catching up. I had gotten lost in the moment –a bit too lost- and realized nobody had been around yet; we were on our own this whole time. I ruffled his hair receiving a grin from him before standing up and stretching.

“Let’s go find the others and tell them you’re staying with me, okay?” He stood up with me and touched my hand reassuringly.

“I really missed it here.” His words left a fuzzy feeling of nostalgia in the pit of my stomach and my throat was thick with concealed emotions, all I could do was hug him and say “I missed you.” with a wide smile. Sin Arvanitis never stayed in the same place too long, he enjoyed travelling and got around more than the average vampire would prefer. They like to stick to the shadows, all that jazz over the sunlight is absolute bullshit. They don't exactly enjoy the sun though. I grabbed his wrist and we walked around the house calling out to my brothers.

“Idiot boys! Come out!” I was about to walk past the game room when I noticed people inside. Most probably Olivia and Shalia, the twins, my other closest friends. Popping my head inside, Sin looked at me with like you’d look at a fat child that’s trying to hide behind a tiny pole. Sure enough sitting on the brown leather couches were Jai, Daniel, William, Dex, Shalia and Olivia Mai. I got to admit, we have a pretty good set up in the game room. The vast room with white walls is decorated with various posters from different Anime and Games. 3 80 inch plasma’s were placed evenly in the room, one in the front and the others placed on the left and right walls. By each T.V is an Xbox 360 console, PS4, WII and small Gameboys stacked on a simple black shelf with at least 30 games placed alphabetically taking up two shelves. 3 3-seater leather couches and 2 lazy boys sat on the furnished wooden floor completing the simple and pristine look of the game room. Sprawled on the lazy boy, rocking back and forth lightly was William, focusing intently on his Gameboy. The other 3 boys were kicking each other on the couch and fussing over who plays against whom next and sitting on the floor bumping shoulders were Shalia and Olivia, screaming at the plasma playing what seemed to be Black Ops 2.

“Cover me!” Oli yelled at her twin. Ali bumped her with her shoulder again.

“You killed me you dumb bitch! Same team?! Duh!”

“Stop getting in the way OH MY GAWD!” They were screaming like there was no tomorrow and I giggled at them. My brothers turned to look at me and Sin standing awkwardly in the doorway while Oli and Ali stayed fixated on the game.  They all smiled at us and I had the slightest feeling that they already knew he was here. While they remained smiling I looked at Sin with small confusion and a raised eyebrow. He simply shrugged.

“We called Sin as soon as we caught his scent. Let me tell you, he stinks.” Daniel pinched his nose in fake mock and I frowned slightly while all the boys, including Sin laughed.

“Hush you idiot.” I grabbed Sin's arm and sat him down with me on the couch.  Daniel was sort of right, I must admit. The sickly rusty smell of blood was ever present around him and I wrinkled my nose at the stench. Oli cussed lightly under her breath while Ali had jumped up and was doing what seemed to be a victory dance, I giggled at their silly antics. That’s when they noticed me.

“Liz!” They did their creepy twin thing and spoke at exactly the same time rushing beside me, the side that wasn’t occupied by a 3000 year old vampire. Ali had her hair in a lazy side braid with a plain black beanie, tendrils of her light brown hair slipping out here and there framing her face nicely. She had on washed-out denim jeans with small rips, bright red converse shoes with a blue and red cotton-tee that had a superman logo printed on it. She accessorised with moustache and rainbow pins, a thousand different bracelets and hipster glasses. She was without a doubt, %100 hipster. And yes, so was Oli. Olivia’s hair was thrown up in a messy bun, a floral bow spiralling around her head. She wore tight, black skinny jeans with a white singlet and a denim vest with frayed edges. She didn’t wear many accessories but a cute anklet with her green converse shoes and a few bands on each hand, not enough to cover the Angelic rune tattoo she had on the inside of her wrist, the exact same place Ali’s was. They both had the same light brown hair, reasonably dark skin, soft round features, slim figures and height, only just taller than me. Both at the age of 16, but had the mouth of a 30-year old sailor. They pulled my arm away from Sin and a small feeling of abandonment rippled through me but quickly disappeared once they wrapped an arm around each of my shoulders in a greeting and I grinned at them, hugging them tightly. They were always usually here hanging with my brothers, these girls preferred the company of guys, not that they’re slutty, guys just understand them better. I was lucky to become their friend.

“Hey hey guys.” I sighed deeply then relaxed back into my spot next to Sin while they took up residence next to me. I turned my attention to the day dreaming boys.

“So, Sin is back and he’s going to be sleeping on a mattress in my room. I want to spend time with him and catch up.” I smiled at Sin and he just lifted the corner of his mouth in a reassuring smile. William and Dex exchanged a weird look with each other. Almost like a frown. I lifted an eyebrow. “Any problems, boys?” William set his mouth in a grim line. Oh, no. Oli, being Oli, opened her mouth first.

“Well obviously they think you’re gonna do the dirty.” She wagged her eyebrows at me and my jaw dropped. Me and Sin in that way? Never. I may have the tiniest attraction but that's to be expected, I am a girl. My gaze narrowed on the boys as they squirmed uncomfortably under my scrutiny. Jai spoke from the lazy boy.

“We know your practically family, Sin but really, we can’t that risk baby girl.” He looked at the ground awkwardly. UGH, I looked at them with disgust now. Me and Sin? No. This conversation took a total nose dive and I did not want to dwell on this. I peeked a look up at Sin to see what his take on all this nonsense was. He was just leaning his elbows on his knees and running his finger over his stumbled cheek, a habit of his I had noticed over the years, when he was off in dreamland. I decided to leave him with his thoughts.

“Yes, he is. So there should be no problems. But he can do whatever he wants.” I patted his shoulder in a friendly gesture and the tension in this room was so thick I could cut through it with a knife. The boys, tense and waiting for my reaction, Sin, his gaze on me but his head focused on something completely different and the Twins, already setting up the next game, oblivious to the awkwardness going on around them. I tousled Sin's hair and stood up. So damn soft, I'm jealous.

“Im going to look for Aleesha. Sin, you sleep wherever you want.” With that I squeezed my hipster friends with the prettiest deep blue-and-green-flecked eyes, a promise of meeting up again later, in a hug and turned to go on a search for my slut of a friend, ignoring the roaring ache of loss as I left Sin sitting on the couch. Williams’s voice was distant as I had already walked down the hall.

“Careful up there.” Im sure I heard him smirking.
