CHAP 7

This escalated so quickly that I'm a bit worried lol. I had to speed shit up anyway somehow, now, the adventure BEGINS!

The  cafeteria was milling with activity. I dodged left and right till I found an empty table. Aleesha buys our food while I find a seat. The everday Lunchtime mission. Her black hair popped up  as she searched the crowd so I put a hand in the hair to help her. I didn't think that it would attract more than one person... The last thing I ever expected to happen, happened. Daniel slid in the seat by me at the same time Mystery Boy did the other. Everything went down hill from there. Daniel looked like he was ready to commit double homicide, glaring at the boy with absolute fury. I understand why he's mad, I've never introduced this boy to my brothers before. It's standard procedure that when I meet a boy, I must  introduce him otherwise he remains a threat in their eyes. I felt extremely nervous at that second, Daniel staring at us with accusations in his eyes and Mystery Boy looking like he wanted answers. Daniel was the first to break the awkward silence as I shuffled uncomfortably in my seat.

"Who the fuck are you?" I gasped at his rudeness and smacked his head.

"Be more polite!"

He glared at me now and Mystery Boy tried to snake his hand into my own. I shook him off and narrowed my gaze at him in curiosity.

"He is right, more or less. Who are you?" Daniel sputtered under his breath in disbelief.

"You don't even know the asshole..."

He smiled and my heart fluttered at the sight. Get a grip, Larkins. He was about to answer when Aleesha arrived and dropped everything she was holding on me. Including the drinks.

"Hunter Keenan? The  HUNTER KEENAN?!" My anger rocketed sky high and I was ready to break something. She had soaked me head to toe in chocolate milk. Daniel placed a hand on my shoulder and I took 5 heavy breaths. Aleesha was in an animated conversation with Hunter who completely ignored me. She was touching him, laughing at all his words and batting those damn lashes again. What am I thinking? She's my best friend.

He smiled that heart stopping smile at her.

I stood abruptly, my chair crashing backwards, dragging Daniel with me by his collar towards the field. Kids around us complained as I bunted them out of my way. When we reached an empty spot I punched his shoulder. He groaned out loud and crossed his arms in annoyance.

"Hurry up Dan, say something that'll piss me off," I diagnosed myself with anger issues at the age of 13 and I usually need to hit something to vent it all out otherwise it's an ugly mess if I hold it all in.

"Mom wanted you to be a boy," He continued in a bored tone. I swung at his arm. Chest. Rib. Jaw. Daniel shoved me away and whined.

"Not the face Liz," He clutched his injured jaw and sunk to the ground, wimpering like a dog . I sat with him, laying on the damp grass, staring up at the passing clouds. It's not like I hated Aleesha now, she just ignited a dying flame. Once I was enraged it was hard to come off it.

"Sorry. I was in the moment," Trying to control my heavy breathing, I blinked up at him.

"Yeah no shit, you got milk all over me. What's got you this riled up anyway? That dumbass boy back there? Stupid fuck has no respect, didn't even introduce himself," Daniels expression was a mixture of disgust and anger as he pulled up the grass in front of him. I patted his knee in reassurance and blew out a big breath. Taking off my wet jacket, I rubbed quickly at my face and damped my chest harder than necessary. I weighed the cons and pros of telling him the truth. Lying would end tremendously bad considering how I'm the worst liar ever. Here goes nothing.
