Heterosexual ships with no chemistry between characters is accepted easily, like James Barnes protecting Steve Rogers. It's like, natural, right? It's stupid. I've seen people not say shit about Winterwitch when Bucky and Wanda have (presumably) never met (don't get me wrong, it's a cool ship and all, but.. No screen time) and don't get me s t a r t e d on STARON.

But when people in a fandom even breathe the thought that two male characters who have known (and loved, I'm damn sure of that whether it was platonic or not) each other their whole lives and have protected one another through thick and thin could possibly have romantic feelings for each other, it's shít on.
