***SKYLER POV***
After hearing about the prophecy, one thought comes into my mind:
If we fail, it will be my fault.
That is a thought that I cannot cope with.
I run. I run out of the beautiful forest before anyone sees it coming. I can sense where the water is. I need it, now. I hear Josh run after me, but I don't stop or look back. I can't let them trust me with this, I think. If they do, then I will fail, they will die, I'll probably die...
My mind gets into this train of thought i can't get out of, and I almost smack into a tree. Suddenly, I hear Josh's voice. In my head.
Sky, what the hell? What's wrong?
Water. I need water. Don't follow me, it will be my fault. I'll hurt you.
I realize that he could hear all my thoughts.
Sky, it won't be your fault. I won't blame you, neither will anyone else.
Meet me at the water.
I put up a mental wall and keep running. I can smell the salt. I arrive at the beach, and I dive in the water. I can see my kingdom. I swim as fast as I can. I hear Josh dive in behind me. I will the water to propell me foward, fast. I get to the castle in a minute flat. Oddly, I'm dry. I don't ponder it as I run into the castle, past the guards, and up to the very top of the castle. Two things that make me feel better: Water and being high up. I like being high up because I can see everything, and I feel safe. Once I get to the top, I find a turret. I'm not at all winded. Probably because the water replenished me. I break down once I get to the top. I can't stop thinking that it will my my fault. I have to calm down or people could get hurt like last time.
My fault. All my fault.
As I cry, my vision seems to know my weak spot. Great.
I can't tell where I am. There's too much fire and smoke. I see my friends dying again. I see Lily, screaming for her life, her beautiful white dress splattered with blood. She calls my name, but I can't move.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" She screams at me. "I THOUGHT WE WERE SISTERS! I THOUGHT YOU WOULD PROTECT ME!" She is stabbed and I see her body shaking on the ground, before she goes still.
"NO! LILY! I TRIED! I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...'
I see Josh, beautiful in battle. His blue eyes sparkle with adreneline. He is amazing, is alll I can think.
"SKY! HELP ME! WHERE ARE YOU? I NEED YOU! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!"
"JOSH! NO!" I scream. But he can't hear me. No one can.
I see them dying, over and over.
That awful voice is telling me that they hate me, that it's all my fault, and asking me why I'm not there. This time, I see a face to the voice. He has terrible, black eyes. Even the whites are black. He is made of smoke and death and evil. I can see a bit of what use to be brownish red hair. He says how us, mistakes, are no match for the final product. He tells me to move. I try, and a burning, horrible pain shoots through my entire body. I hear an awful laugh, but all I can think of is my friends voices, in my ear.
"Why didn't you help me..."
"I needed you, and you weren't there..."
"You failed us..."
