Chap 9

I awoke with a start and looked around me. I took in the most beautiful and breathtaking meadow. Where the hell am I?

I turned at the sound of chuckling next to me.

My cute mate of a man is trying to stifle his laughter at my expense.

"You think this is funny? " His reply was to full out laugh at me.

I smacked his chest." Why didn't you wake me? " I pouted.
His eyes glowed before they returned to normal. " You looked so peaceful, like a goddess in slumber that I didn't have the heart to wake you. "

I was speechless. He was looking at me with such tenderness it was impossible to believe he was mine.

I smiled at my mate. Xerxes." Mine" ripped it's out of my throat. I was taken aback by my wolf's possessiveness all of a sudden.

The stench of too much perfume hit my nose and I crinkled it in disgust. Where the hell is that coming from? Pulling my gaze away from my mate and I looked around to try to locate where the foul odour was emanating. I rose from my spot and began walking through the meadow.
I heard the wolf slinking behind the bushes and a growl tore from my throat again.

"Who are you?? Reveal yourself!!!! "

The gray and brown wolf came forward and began to growl viciously.

" Shift!!! " I commanded.

A petite brown haired girl with too much make up on stood before me and Xerxes. She wore a tribal tattoo of some kind, on her arm.

I have no idea where this aggressive behaviour is coming from within me but I let my wolf take control of the situation since she already took over and her mothering instinct was probably pushed to the forefront.

She had the audacity to try and stare at me, before long she dropped her gaze and dropped to one knee.

" I will give you one last chaance to answer me before I slit your throat. Who are you and what are doing here? " my wolf demanded.

Before she could answer Xerxes replied" She is a female pack member of mine. Her name is Aurora. She has this weird obsession that I was her mate and we would realise it all the ball. When that didn't happen I haven't seen or spoken to her to her since until now. Care to answer my mates other question Aurora? Or should I? "

What the hell is going on here. My wolf was beginning to get even more angry than she already was. I hope my mate doesn't have some dirty secret he's about o reveal. My wolf won't be able to control herself.

" You are with my mate and I demand you leave him this instance! " she finally spoke. I geowled at her and shifted into my wolf and trspped her beneath my paw.

She began to whimper and plead for my mates help but he stood to the side not paying her any mind.

I howled for her to submit to me and she did.

I shifted back to my human form and began walking bacl through the meadow. I threw over my shoulder "You better get that girl some help and put her in another pack. If you don't my wolf won't be so lenient the next time. "

Xers threw her jacket over my nakedness as the guards who were watching the spectacle took the crazy bitch away.

When we were far enough away I turned to my mate and took his hand.

" I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me. I'll understand if your disappointed in me. I know that's not how a future Queen should behave but she got me so angry I can't explain............... "

He silenced he with a kiss so hot and full of promise I thought the earth had melted.

After a few minutes we both pulled away breathless. I whimpered from the loss of contact. Then I realise what just happened and blushed like crazy.

Xees put our foreheads together and said " That was one of the sexiest things I have ever seen in my life. You were staking your position as my mate when you felt a threat. You had all right to do what you did. She needs to know where she stands and she is not and will never be my mate. "

I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding at hearing those words.

" Can we forget about all that and just enjoy our time before I have to return home"

" Of course we can Bira. Anything you want. We should probably get you some clothes first. "

As if just now coming to terms with my nakedness I gripped the jacket extremely close to my body I stepped away from Xers. Me being me I tripped and fell on my bum.

As if things couldn't possibly get my embarrassing my hands released my only cover. I folded myself into a fetal position and just lay there.

He must of mind linked his security because a blanket was placed over me and my mate scooped me into his chest and carried me to the car. He put me into the front seat and buckled me in. We were both silent on the drive to where ever.

I can not believe I flashed him, TWICE!

" He liked it though. Didn't you see his face? " my wolf gleefully exclaimed.

" Of course you would love this. " I told her.

After about minutes we stopped at this quaint little town.

" I'll be back with some clothes OK. Lock the doors behind me. "

I did as instructed. This day wasn't going as planned, but at least I got to spend it with my mate no matter how weird it was. I don't know how long I have till he discovers my secret and hate me. I'm going to be selfish for how ever long I have with him.
