Natalie followed Balto and I all through the hallway into the Library. The only reason I knew was because Balto had told me as we entered the library.

Otherwise I would have stayed oblivious to the fact I was being followed, I wanted to fix that. I didn’t want to have this morning repeat itself. Just that memory made my blood chill.

“Does she know we know?” I whispered leaning in against his shoulder.

He chuckled and shook his head, “No, I don’t believe she has realized that we’re onto her yet.” He smiled leaning forward pulling open the heavy security doors that led into the library.

With ease the muscles in his left arm bunched and the door swung open, I normally struggled to do that. I hated the doors in all honesty they were far to heavy and unnecessary for a library. They really made it feel more like a prison then a learning environment.

Not to mention the weird detector things that you had to walk through, they gave off this high pitched whining noise.

I knew Balto could hear it because he winced as we walked through them heading around the wide desk to the far corner where Taryin was sitting his feet up on the desk as he leaned back in his chair.

“No matter how hard you wish he won’t fall.” Balto sighed.

“I wasn’t thinking that! Jeez how mean do you think I am.” I fought the smile that tugged at my lips, he had beaten me to it.

Now of course I kept picturing all the different ways that Taryin could fall backwards and make a fool of himself. But like Balto said he most likely wouldn’t do that because he was either too cool or it was all due to the Feral power.

Yeah in my head that sounded really corny like Power ranger corny. I would have smacked my forehead if it weren’t for the fact that I was walking with Balto and he held my left hand which was the hand that naturally smacked me.

Yes I have a specific face-palm hand!

Taryin noticed us and waved once before slowly lowering his hand his orange eyes narrowing on Natalie behind us. He moved his feet off the table and rose to stand instead, tucking his hands in his jean pockets in an attempt to keep personae up.

“You’re late, I thought you said a quick tour then you would get your asses down here. Balto you don’t have time to waste” Taryin snapped looking at him his eyes shifting behind us again.

“I was assisting Sybelle, she was patching things up with her friend Natalie. It seemed to be distressing her trying to explain the situation.” He gave a calm shrug tugging me in closer to his side.

Taryins eyes burned with anger as they fought who to glare at, Me, Balto, or Natalie trying to be sneaky. I couldn’t help the snicker, it was impossible to be sneaky with these guys. She didn’t know that but still it was funny to have her try.

“I don’t want to know what you told her.” Taryin sighed rubbing his forehead with his right hand.

Balto scowled his black eyebrows furrowing in confusion, “I told her the truth, She is important to Sybelle. Is she not?” He asked looking down at me.

“She’s like my sister, so you better be nice to her.” I snapped at both of them.

My tone made Balto smile but Taryin just glared at me like he normally did. At least I could count on him to be consistent when it came to everything.

“Alright well you two talk out whatever it is you need to talk about. I’m going to do some research on the thing ‘Kay?” I tried to pull my hand from Balto’s and found it nearly impossible.
