It was twenty-four years before Asango's birth that Emperor Tacitus finally defeated Daibok and brought the horrible Demon War to a close. Rather than kill the demon king, Tacitus forced him withdraw his forces and agree to a pact. From that day forward, none of the great demon lords dared to set foot within the Denigoth Empire. The Onkai slowly rebuilt their forces and only had to deal with lesser demons that remained in the wild. This ushered in the greatest era of prosperity and expansion the human race had ever seen. An entire generation was born after who only knew the legions of hell from stories. They grew bold and inventive, and looked toward the future.
