"Did you call him?" John asked.
"He didn't answer, so I just left a message." Paul hung his head. "I still love him so much."
"He's not worth your time," he snapped. "Nobody's going to talk to me Paulie Pie like that, not when I'm around."
"I love you."
"I know you do, come here." John opened his arms.
"You're everything I've ever wanted and more."
"Who's the cheesy one now?" he teased.
"Shut up, Johnny." Paul snuggled deeper into him. "You know, I'm almost ready to get that top surgery."
"I know. You can have it whenever you want, okay?"
"Okay."

"Shit." John sat in the waiting room, biting his nails. "It's been hours!"
"It'll take a while," George reminded him. Ringo and Mike sat with him as well.
"Mr. Lennon?" The doctor came out. "He's ready to see you now."
"Thanks!" They nearly ran him over to get to his room.
"John?" Paul started to sit up, but fell back down again. "Chest hurts," he muttered.
"I'm so proud of you, Paulie Pie." John held his hand.
"Me too," someone spoke up.
"Dad?" Mike looked at him in shock.
"I love you, son. I wouldn't change you for anything." Jim placed a hand on Paul's head.
"Love you," Paul whispered.
"Oh, and Paul?" John placed a little box in his lap. "Open it."
"Hmm?" He opened it slowly, gasping at its contents.
"What do you say?" He slid the ring on his finger.
"I...oh John, yes!" He hugged him even though his chest hurt like hell. "Of course!"
"That's me Paulie Pie."
