"No! I'm not a bird, I'm a bloke! Don't ever call me that again!" Paul wrapped his arms around himself. "I'm a bloke."

"Paulie?"

He sighed, dropping his arms to reveal a binder. "I have a confession to make."

"Yeah, you do." John flinched after he looked a bit hurt. "I - I mean, what?"

"Come here." Paul opened his wallet, showing him a picture of a girl with long black hair. "This is Michelle Pauline McCartney. She called herself Michelle for many years, but she's no more." He put the photo back.

"Michelle," he murmured. "So Michelle is -"

"Was me."

"Wow." John stared at his face. "I always tell you about how much you look like a bird, but I never realized -"

"I'M NOT A BIRD!" Paul shouted, backing up. "I WAS NEVER A BIRD, I'M JUST ME! I'M JAMES PAUL MCCARTNEY, AND NOBODY CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE!" He collapsed to a floor with a sob. "I'm Paul!"

"Oh my god!" He bent down. "I'm so, so sorry for upsetting you."

"Save it!" he shouted. "I don't care! Never talk to me again, dammit! Just go away!" He curled up into a sobbing ball.

"Paul, I'm really, really sorry! It's okay! I don't mean it." John hugged him tightly, surprising even himself. "I don't care who you are, you're always me best mate."

"I - I am?" Paul looked up nervously.

"Of course! It's okay." He rubbed his back, whispering softly. "I'll never leave."

"Promise?"

"Promise."
