Lacey's POV

*Friday*

"How can you eat that shit?" I cringed as I watched Michael eat his baked ziti he got from the school lunch line.

He shrugged as Calum chuckled. "Mikey here can eat anything."

"But the school ziti? That's so gross." Sofia groaned.

Michael smirked. "Want a bite, Al?" He asked as he stuck a forkful in her face.

She narrowed her eyes. "You better be glad you're cute, or I would have slapped you by now."

Michael shoved the fork in his mouth as their eyes met, making Alhona smile.

"Disgusting." Mack rolled her eyes.

"Young love..." Ashton awed, and Sofia giggled.

There goes two more sets of heart eyes.

"Fuck you guys. Love sucks." I laughed.

"What makes you say that?" Calum questioned.

"She's only saying that because her boyfriend is a douchebag." My brother answered. I noticed that Calum's slight smile turned into a frown.

"Correctamundo, bro."

"I'm so ready to kick his ass." Mack growled.

"How's he a douche?" Michael continued the trail of questions.

"Well, seeing as how most girls have dates to homecoming already, he hasn't asked me yet. We never talk anymore. I love him, and I don't want to leave him. Maybe we just need to talk about things." I rambled, stirring my yogurt to avoid having to looking at anyone. Mostly Calum.

"Damn. He sounds terrible to me." Luke commented.

"He is, Lip Ring. I think he might be cheating on her." Mack added.

"I dont wanna talk about this anymore."  I thought.

"I'll see you guys later. I left my biology book in my locker by accident." I lied, gathering my things.

I left before anyone could say anything to me.

"I know you already have your biology book in your bag, Lace. I saw you grab it when I was with you at your locker earlier." I heard a voice say when I was halfway down the hallway. By then, I already had tears in my eyes.

"Just leave me alone, Cal. I'm fine." My voice cracked. I kept walking until I felt a hand grip my wrist, stopping me.

"Lacey, stop. You aren't okay." He softly replied. Tears fell down my cheeks as I turned to face him. He pulled me to his chest before I wrapped my arms around him.

"I-I just don't know what to do." I sobbed into his shirt.

"It's okay. I'm here." He stroked my hair.

We stood there in the hallway for a few minutes, me crying into his shirt. I prayed and hoped Daniel wouldn't show up. Luckily, he didn't.

"Look at me." He commanded as I obeyed. He used his thumb to wipe away my tears. He pushed the strands of hair out of my face, and he let his hand linger near my cheek. His gestures made me smile.

"You're amazing. A dick like Daniel doesn't deserve you. If he doesn't love you, someone else will one day. Don't you dare cry over him, okay? You hear me?" He sternly told me. I nodded.

"And if he doesn't take you to homecoming, I fucking will. If it means that much for you to have a date, you've always got me." He grinned.

"Thank you, Cal." He kissed my forehead.
