The euphoric numbness soon faded away, and Angel was forced to push herself off the edge, but not before looking down with a longing glance. She knew jumping would be a messy waste of time, seeing as she would just revive within 3 minutes. She had learnt a long time ago that she could never be at peace unless her twin's heart stopped beating. She sighed tiredly and started her journey back towards the Gilbert household. Her black, heeled boots echoed with hollow thumps against the pavement of the streets, as she strolled through the eerie alleyways that she had grown to admire. She had built herself a taste for the darker things in life; they always were made of more entertaining stories. The sky was turning black, and the stars were slowly waking up from their slumber, but there were still a few people out. The town of Mystic Falls was quite small, so almost everyone knew everyone, and all of the town's people were fully aware of Angel. People whispered about her, the one who lived the fast life. They murmured about the devastatingly beautiful girl. The blonde Gilbert was a big topic for the town's people. The cold teenager dripped with mystery and charm. No one knew much about her, other than she was Miranda and Grayson's girl. She never acknowledged the stares she received, she simply seemed to not care. She seemed to not care about anything. She had the air of danger, so, as a result, all of the parents warned their children away from her - well, besides the families of Elena's friends. She was a hazard, an alluring storm that would destroy anything in its path. At least that's what their hushed voices would breathe. Angel never truly minded, she actually found the solitude quite pleasurable. Although the blonde enigma held a reputation that others painted, she never tried to correct it; there would be no use to.
"Angel," a deep voice called out. Her pace remained the same, as the sound of heavy foot steps running. "Hey," Tyler Lockwood greeted, as he fell into step with her.
"Hey," she repeated in a bored tone, taking note that she was now on her street. He let out a light chuckle.
"You never showed up to my party," he stated in a light tone. "Why?"
"I didn't want to go."
Confusion flickered in his eyes, as he stared at her with bewilderment. "Everyone wants to come to my parties."
"Not everyone."
"Everybody whose a somebody does."
"Then I must be a nobody," she responded evenly, not even attempting to make the conversation run smoother, as she continued her walk. His eyes widened, while he shook his head.
"I didn't say that!"
"Yes, you did."
"No, I didn't!"
"That's what you implied."
"No! I-"
"Let's just drop it," she interrupted in a disinterested voice.
He let out a huff of annoyance. After a beat of silence, he continued his pointless task of talking to the town's source of gossip. "You look beautiful today," he complimented with a charming smile, "as always."
She scoffed at his flirting. Tyler had been trying to get into her pants for a while now. "Drop the act, Lockwood." He frowned with a sigh.
"Why don't you just give in? It would be amazing for both of us!"
She rolled her eyes. "Shut up."
He glared at her, "You're playing with fire," he hissed, hurt flashed through his body at the cold rejection.
Angel turned to him, as they stopped in front of the Gilbert house. "Oh, Wolfie," she chuckled bitterly, as a cryptic grin morphed onto her smoke-flavored lips, " I am the fire." With that, she turned and calmly glided to the porch.
Tyler watched as she walked away. "Why do you keep calling me that," he asked curiously.
She turned to him, as she unlocked the door and walked in. Before she shut it, she smiled a secretive smile, never answering his question.
He shook his head and played her words over in his head. "You sure are," he mumbled, before making his way back to his group of friends.
Hey! This is kind of a filler. It gives you a little insight on how people view Angel! Thank you for all of the support! It means the world to me!
