Angel gazed at the pacing Salvatore with a placid expression.
"You're going to ruin your hero hair, if you keep running your fingers through it," she determined, her tone leaking with chilling dullness.
"How can you be so calm," he growled, glaring a the blonde in disbelief. "Do you not understand? Your sister, your own twin, is turning into a vampire. Her human life is gone!"
"I understand perfectly," she hummed, her eyes gazing around blankly, never truly consuming her surroundings.
"How did this happen?"
"I did it." She wasn't going to lie about her actions. Angel was not trying to hide anything; there was no need for her to pretend to be good. Everyone had already formed a solid opinion about her, and she knew it would be a waste of her time trying to convince them that she was everything they doubted she was. No, Angel did what had to be done. She did what everyone was too weak to do. Was she cruel, evil, and sick? Maybe. But she didn't regret doing this to her sister. Life was about sacrifice, and she knew that Elena would rather it be this was than the other option. She did Elena a favor. She did not let the unavoidable death of her sister drag out. Hell, she even spared Stefan the pain of trying to convince her sister to remain human, or switch to a vampire. Angel was okay with making the choices that others were too faint-hearted to make; she was okay with being the villain. She had taken the role on in every lifetime she lived; why would this one be any different?
Stefan's eyes widened in disbelief, as crudely-hidden disgust crept throughout his body. "What..you.." He shook his head. This wasn't right. He didn't know the woman leaning against the wall. She was a stranger with a familiar face. "You murdered your own sister? How could you? That's..that's..."
"Sick? Twisted? Psychotic?"
He glared at her. "Yes, Angel. It's so..wrong. How could you kill your own twin?"
A low, mocking laugh slid passed her lips. "Be careful, sweetie. My sister will be able to open her eyes again; was your father ever able to do so?"
Stefan froze. She was dead by then, so she couldn't know about his first fatal sin. She shouldn't know.
"Oh, but I do know, Stefan. I know about everything, and, because I know about everything, I was able to make a choice. Death is coming, and by stripping Elena of her mortality, I was able to save multiple lives."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Angel bit her lip. It was not her place to inform Stefan of the Originals existence, and she definitely wasn't obliged to do so. She had done her part in protecting her family; she had no need to protect the Salvatores. "Just keep your eyes open."
Stefan chocked out a humorless laugh. "Keep my eyes open? Angel, who are you? Where's the girl that would skip through the streams, chasing after the fish? Where's the girl that would hide her smile with her hair? The girl that would throw pebbles at mine and Damon's windows at midnight, so we could all escape reality? The girl who held Damon after Father's beatings and wiped my tears away after every night of continuing nightmares? Where is she?" Stefan stared at Angel with desperate intensity, silently begging her to show the limited emotions she once wore.
Angel simply raised a brow, clearly unaffected by Stefan's words. "She died, Salvatore. Quit searching for a dead girl." Angel brought a hand over her mouth, as she yawned. A loud gasp interrupted the argument.
Elena looked around the room in confusion. "What's happening," she groaned.
Stefan gazed a Angel expectantly, while Angel rolled her eyes at him. "You're in transition," she spoke replied, nonchalantly.
