---------------------------------------------------------

I woke up the next morning in nothing but pain. My entire body was acing. When I was finally able to open my eyes I realized that I was on the floor. The sun was peeking in through my window, and I could already tell it was too late, and I wouldn't be eating today. I slowly got to my feet, using the wall for my support. My ankle was throbbing from were my father gripped it last night. As careful as I could not to hurt myself I made my way to the bathroom.

I regretted the second I looked in the mirror. I looked like shit. My body was covered in dark fresh bruises from last night. My entire midsection was full of disgusting bruises, and I had a fresh cut on my cheek covered in a bruise.

Determined not to look in the mirror again I removed my clothes, and I got in the shower. It felt so refreshing to have the hot water falling down my body. I was able to feel my body immediately relax under the pressure. I closed my eyes, and I relished the small moment of relaxation. I rarely got them after all.

After my shower I got dressed in sweat pants and a loose shirt. I looked at the time and saw that it was 3:00 pm. My stomach was growling, and I would kill for a sandwich right now. I went over to my window, and my mood dropped even more when I saw my father had company. Their was no way in hell I was going to be eating tonight. Trying not to think too much about it I grabbed the first book I saw from my bookshelf and began to read, wanting to forget everyone and everything.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up to someone slamming on door. Startled, I jump out of my bed knocking my book "Cress" down to the floor in the process. Terrified I was keeping my father waiting I went to open the door as fast as can. I swing open the door, and I am faced with one of our many maids. I had seen her around the house in the mornings, when the servants are running late. She has short brown hair with bright green eyes. Shes very small. I would guess right as 5 ft. She is a very petite looking woman who I would guess to be in her late twenties. Her face shows emotion, and shows she is here only because my father has told her to do so.

She looks at me and throws a dress in my face and walks in to the room.

"Mr.Knight has company tonight, and had demanded your presence. He expects to to be ready in an hour my name is Mary, so sit so I can begin on your hair and make-up."

Not wanting to argue with my fathers orders I sit. I was finding this all very strange. I always get ready by myself. My father wants no one to see me unless its necessary. This must be important to send someone up here to assist me.

It's been 45 minutes and Mary is finally done. She did a great job at covering up my bruises, it looks as if nothing ever happened. I was thankful she didn't ask questions, but my father probably told her not too. She gives my dress and shoes my off to get dressed. Once i'm fully dressed and ready to go I am speechless. I look absolutely flawless. My hair has been curled and put up in a bun with curls falling out. I have dark eyeliner around my eyes with a thick coat of mascara with a light coat of gold eye shadow. My lips are red. Dark perfect seducing red. My dress is beautiful. Its strapless, and from the waist up its a pattern of gold and red. It flows all the way down to my feet in a very dark red color. I love it, but at the same time I'm extremely nervous. My dad seems to be putting a lot of effort into making this perfect, and that can't be good for me if I'm involved.

I walk out of the bathroom, and Mary is more than ready to go. She grabs me by the arm and starts dragging me downstairs. I am so beyond nervous at this point. This is something big, and I can feel it. As we are rushing down the stairs I notice my father is at the bottom waiting for us. I tense up the second I see him. Images of the last time I saw him flash through my head, and my entire body turns cold.
