I woke up to the sun hitting my face. I peeled open my eyes, and I saw that the time read 11:30am. I stretched out my sore muscles, wincing a little from the pain on my stomach. I turned my head, and I looked to the space next to me. It was empty. The only evidence from the night before was the small indent on the bed from were he laid. My mind flashed to the events of last night. Xander. I laid my hand on my stomach thinking of the bruises that laid there. Xander begging me to show him what no one had seen before. The bruises. The pain.

I rose from my spot on the bed, and went to take a shower. The pressure of the warm water hitting me felt like heaven. It relaxed all of my tense muscles, easing the ache just a little. Upon exiting the shower I managed to catch my eye in my own reflection once again. The bruises were slowly starting to fade away. My body looked like a skeleton. You could almost see my ribs. My shoulders were sharp, my cheeks hollow, my stomach caved in. I had barely eaten anything for weeks. I had never gone this long without eaten, and it certainly showed. I cringed away from my reflection, hating myself more than I already do.

Waiting for me when I walked out of the bathroom was a maid. She was the same petite girl who helped me the night of my "engagement."

"Hello miss, your father and Mr.Star have requested you presence in the study."

I dismissed the kind maid, and I told her I would be there soon. I sat at my mirror, and I began to hide marks that covered my body. I straighten my hair, and put on a pair of white shorts with a denim button down shirt.

I hadn't been to my fathers study since my mother was still with us. The thought made a shiver run down my spine. That was when my father had still cared for me. When I was little I would always run into his study during the day, and ambush him with hugs and kisses until he agreed to play with me. The memory brought a smile to my lips. Oh how things have changed since then.

I walked down the hall to his study with the hollowness full in my heart, and I prepared myself for what was to come. I stopped right outside the door. I could hear voices talking inside. I raised my hand to knock, when the door was suddenly pulled open before I could make contact.

I stood face to face with my father. Fear ripped its way through my stomach as I looked at him. He looked furious. The bloodshot look in his eyes told me that he had already had a few drinks this morning. I felt myself flinch away on instinct.Did Xander tell him about last night? The thought that hadn't even crossed my mind that he would tell anyone. I don't think that I have ever felt a fear such as this one before. What if he knew?

"Ali how nice of you to arrive! Would you please come in and join us." I heard Mr. Star ask from inside.

My father stepped to the side to let me enter, while glaring daggers in my direction. As I stepped into the room a wave of memories from the past came rushing through my mind with brutal force. It was a small simple with bookshelves covering most of the area, a wide desk sitting in the middle of the room, and  massive window covering the wall behind it. I was taken aback from the room I stood in. Memories of happiness and love. It made an awful bitter feeling rise in my chest.

Mr. Star stood leaning against my fathers desk. He had a kind smile playing on his lips as he looked in my direction.

"A wonderful morning to you my dear." Mr. Star beamed in my direction

"Good morning" I replied with a small smile.

"As you know the engagement between you and my son has been officially engaged for a month now. Your father and I have been talking, and we believe that it is officially time to set a date and proceed on with the event. I insisted on having you here as it is your wedding." Mr.Star said to me with a smile plastered on his face.

"What do you need me for?" I asked utterly confused as to what I had to do.

"Well plan the wedding of course!" Mr.Star stated as if it were obvious to me.

"What?"

"Please my dear this should be right up your alley! Picking flowers, finding a dress, tasting cakes, all the fun stuff. We would like to have the date set for within the next six months,  but the choice is yours my dear."

"Of course Mr.Star, how could I be so thoughtless." I said with a smile. "I'm thrilled to get started."

I looked at the man in front of me. The only man to show me true kindness, and I felt a small pine of hate. As he was speaking to me about wedding cakes and dresses I realized something. He saw me as everyone else in the world saw me. I spoiled rich bitch that spends my time having mani petites and shopping. I'm oblivious to the world around and the problems within it. I felt a small smile rise upon my face.

"I hired a wedding planner to help you with all of the arrangements." My father said still standing next to the door. I understood why he was mad now. He didn't like the freedom Mr. Star was giving to me. The wedding planner was his way to watch and control me.

A sudden knock on the door made me jump in my stop. I turned at looked as Xander walked into the room. I felt all the muscles in my body tense up As the night before went flooding through my mind. He looked like nothing happened last night. His suit was iron and laid out perfectly against he chest. His hair was slicked back so not a strand was out of place, and his was smooth from a fresh shave. He walked in with grace and power. The world belonged to him. Gone was the beautiful broken boy from last night. His eyes never met mine as he looked to his father.

"You called?" he asked

"Yes my son. I just got done talking with Ali and we have decided for continue on with this engagement. She will be planning it all, the control is in her hands. You will do whatever she wants for this wedding. She will be your wife soon, so you better get used to it." Mr. Star said laughing to himself.

That was when his eyes finally landed upon mine. I saw nothing there. He was empty. I looked away from him gazing at the floor.

"Whatever you ask father." he replied void of emotion

I don't know what I expected from Xander, but this was not it. I expected to feel a part of me break, but I felt nothing. I guess there was nothing left in me to break.
