I sit at the bar, a glass of whiskey in hand and i take a sip, before I finish the third glass. I ask the bartender for another glass before a girl with brunette hair and a sweater with beige pants sits beside me and she orders a glass of wine.
"you look exhausted." I point out and she looks over at me with a laugh and I smile.
"who are you?" she asks and I laugh lightly, adjusting in my seat.
"whoever you'd like me to be." I say, looking at her this time as she smiles lightly and I return the smile.
"well, to answer your questions, a little. I had to do some school shopping, I start college in a week." she explains before she sighs and I nod, scooting my stool beside her and she smiles.
"what are you studying?" I ask, taking a sudden interest in her. she was beautiful, almost too beautiful that I thought I was so drunk I was hallucinating.
"I'm getting into film." she says. "a little bit of photography in the mix." the bartender sets a glass of wine in front of her and she thanks him softly before she takes a long sip, making me smile.
"interesting. I'm studying marketing, my mom owns a record label and I'm taking over soon but I have to learn the field before I do so, so i was forced into college." I laugh, twirling the ice in my cup and she nods, turning her head to face me with her hand under her round chin.
"that sounds much more interesting than film." she laughs and I look up at her, giving her a smile.
"I think what you're doing is wonderful, I mean, if it's something you find passion in." I say, finishing my drink and I ask for another.
"it is. always has been since high school, I just never took it seriously." she says with a light smile and I set a hand at her thigh.
"well, you must be good if you got in." I wink and she laughs, staring down at my hand against her thigh and I follow her gaze, before I remove my hand and my face flushes.
"sorry." I mumble.
she laughs lightly without saying a word and I turn back to my drink, before she starts talking again.
"I didn't catch your name." she says and I turn to her, with a huge smile and she returns it.
"Austin. Austin Mahone." I say and I extend my arm out and she proceeds to place her hand in mine.
"Aquila. Aquila Montgomery." she smiles and I shake her hand, before I let go.
"that's a beautiful name for a very beautiful young women." I say and she smiles a timid smile before pushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
"thank you." she says.
"so I'm guessing you don't have a boyfriend?" I question and she gives me a light laugh before she looks at her glass of wine.
"no. I did though until he decided to cheat me." she says, looking at me and I raise an eyebrow.
"why would anyone cheat on someone so damn beautiful?" I rhetorically ask and she laughs, taking a drink from her glass.
"I guess that's a question only he can answer." she says, with a sad tone and I place my hand on her shoulder.
"he's a bastard. you'll find someone much much much better." I promise and she smiles, placing her hand on mine and I get lost in her grey eyes.
