I place my phone on the nightstand once I had end the call with my mom, which she didn't answer and I throw on a pair of sweats before walking out.
I over hear a conversation between Austin and his best friend and I step out of the room, my hands in the pocket of the sweats.
"who's Katya?" I ask and I see Robert stand from the couch and Austin glances at me and then at Robert, who's already disappearing into his room.
"how long have you been standing there?" he asks and I grab my orange juice from the island and I take a sip.
"long enough to hear you say that I shouldn't meet this so called Katya." I explain and he runs his hands through his hair before standing up. "who is she?" I ask once more.
"she's, uh, she's a friend." he mutters, walking off into the kitchen and I sit on the stool, poking my now cold eggs with a fork.
"if she was just a 'friend', why can't I meet her?" I question and he turns around, his hands resting on the marble countertop.
"you can't meet her because she's no one important in my life. not anymore." he says, bringing more questions to mind and I hesitate to ask them.
"alright." I say, not wanting up keep pushing the subject. "well, if she's coming over then I'll just get dressed and go see my dad and check on my mom." I say and he nods, running a hand through his curls again and I sigh, before hopping off the stool and I bring my plate to the sink. austin takes it from me and he gently sets the plate in the sink and he kisses my forehead. "I'll be in your room if you need me." I say before walking off.
I pick out my favorite red flannel, a black crop top and black skinny jeans and I quickly change into them, curling a few strands of hair and I apply light make up, before finishing off with a few accessories. I pull on my combat boots, tying the stings and I finish putting on my watch and I grab my purse, before walking out to meet Austin in the living room again.
"that was quick." he says before placing a hand at my hip and I place my hand on his chest. "you look so good." he mutters into my ear and I giggle.
"I have to go, I'll call you when I get there?" I say and he nods, kissing my forehead and I kiss his cheek before I walk out of his condo.
I walk down the long hallway, stopping at the elevator and I press the button to the lobby and the robotic voice speaks through the intercom and the doors slide open.
a dark haired girl, about my age, steps out and she smiles at me and I return it, noticing she looked oddly familiar and I shake it off, before stepping into the elevator and I take a quick glance at the girl, noticing she stops right at Austin's door step and I burrow my eyebrows.
