I hear Laura call Austin and she comes back laughing as I finish the final touches to my surprise and I kind of feel bad but it was the only way he would hurry in time.
"I feel so bad for him. I feel like he's gonna get angry." She says as she chuckles and I sit beside her on the couch.
"I know. I do too but we did it and I think it was affective." I say with a smile and Laura lays her head on my lap and I run my hands through her hair.
"What do you think he's gonna say ?" She asks, getting up and I look at her, sighing.
"I don't know." I say. "We'll find out soon."
She nods softly before I hear rattling at the door and it springs open to a heaving Austin and he rushes to me, kneeling down beside me.
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" He asks, catching his breath and I try not to break a smile.
"I'm okay. I was just cramping but I'm okay." I say and he sighs, his head resting in my lap and I run my hands through his curls.
"Baby." I mumble softly and he looks up at me, his eyes filled with worry and I kiss his cheek. "I have a surprise for you." I say.
"What?" He asks.
"Come with me." I say and he gets up, followed by me and I grab his hand, pulling him down the hall to Alex's old room.
I stand by the door, glancing at Laura, who's standing behind Austin and I sigh, gathering my thoughts.
"So I pulled this together last minute and I should've told you but this would just be much more meaningful." I say and I take a deep breath.
I slowly open the door, revealing to Austin our baby's nursery and I watch Austin push through and he stands in the middle of the room.

"Baby, this is- this is amazing." He gushes, his hands gripping the crib and I smile before he pulls me to his side.
He kisses me temple softly and Laura excuses herself and I direct my attention to Austin, who seems blown away at the room.
"So you like it right?" I ask and he chuckles before pecking my lips softly.
"Are you kidding? It's amazing." He gushes and he kisses me, this time a full kiss and I wrap my arms around his broad shoulders.
I sigh in relief and I sit on the rocking chair beside the door and I watch Austin lean against the crib.
"I never thought I would have to mend for a baby." He says, looking at me and I smile, looking down at my bump.
"I'm sorry." I say and he frowns at me, walking toward me. He kneels beside me and he places a hand to my bump.
"Sorry for what? I want this as much as you do." He smiles and I run a hand through his curls.
I hear the door buzz, informing us that someone was at the gate and Austin gets up and I follow him. I sit beside Laura, who's still sitting on the couch and she lays her head on my lap again.
"How'd it go?" She asks.
"He likes it." I smile down at her.
Within minutes, Austin is opening the door for his mom and I slightly panic, covering my belly with a throw pillow, making Laura laugh as she sits up.
"Hello." Michele says, kissing my cheek and then Laura's. I greet her as she sits across from me and Austin excuses himself, taking a call.
"How are you?" Laura asks Michele and she clears her throat, adjusting in her seat.
"Good. Austin called me over but he's busy. Do you happen to know why?" She asks, directing her attention to me and I nervously laugh.
"I actually don't know." I say, looking over at the door, hoping he'd walk in and save the day.
"Hmm, I'm sure it's probably about the company." She says, smiling at me and I return it.
After a long conversation with Michele, Austin walks in, sitting beside me, setting a hand on my thigh.
"Mom, we need to talk." He says, looking at me and then glancing at his mom, who adjusts in her chair.

hi loves. i'm so sorry for being so inactive, school has come between me and writing but i promise i'll try my hardest to update.
so *BREAKING NEWS* apparently Austin's middle name isn't Carter but it's Harris ??? idk, i like it.
oh yeah, i know this chapter is short but i really had no other ideas for it. i kind of just threw this together without inspiration so i apologize if it's boring. i promise the best chapter will be great and much longer than this.
