"Damn it, Sammy."

After Sam's body rested from the last jolt, the monitor started to beep at a steady pace again. All the hospital staff in the room smiled to themselves. All of them, including Dean and Cas, were relieved that Sam was still alive. The doctor and the nurses left the room, hauling the equipment behind them. Dean immediately rushed back into the room.

"Dammit, Sammy," Dean said as he sat down again. "You almost gave me a heart attack." Dean looked at the clock on the wall and seen it was 7:30 in the morning.

"I'm going out to get some breakfast. I'll be back soon," Dean said as he stood up. "Call me if anything happens with Sam."

"Okay, Dean," Cas replied, still looking out the window. Dean grabbed his jacket and walked out the door. While walking through the hallway, Dean checked to see how much cash he had on him. After confirming that he still had money, he walked out the front doors of the hospital. Digging his keys out of his pocket, Dean walked to the Impala. After opening the door, Dean slid into the driver's seat and started the engine.

Smiling to himself, Dean allowed the purring of Baby's engine to relax him. Dean then reversed out of his parking spot and drove down the road towards the local diner. Dean ordered enough food to feed three people, knowing that Sam will be hungry when he wakes up. After getting his order, Dean walked back out to the Impala. Dean felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He quickly set the food on the seat and answered the call.

"Dean, Sam is awake," Cas' voice said as soon as the line connected.

"Okay, I'm on my way back," Dean replied before he hung up and began the short drive back to the hospital.

"Hey Sammy," Dean said when he entered the room.

"Hi," Sam replied hoarsely. "I hope you have food in there for me cause I'm not eating the crappy food the hospital serves."

Dean laughed at his younger brother. "Yeah, I bought enough food for all of us." Dean grabbed the movable table at the side of Sam's bed and moved it between them. He set out all the food he had bought and let Sam choose what he wanted. Dean then started to eat what was left over.

"Cas, you can get some food too if you want," Dean said with his mouth full of food.

"You know that food only tastes like molecules to me, Dean," Cas replied, glancing at Sam and Dean then looking back out the window, lost in thought again. Sam stared at him for a moment. Then he looked at Dean. Dean shrugged his shoulder in response and continued to stuff his face full.

"Okay, then," Dean said and kept eating. Just as they finished eating and throwing away the remnants, Sam's doctor came in.

"Ah, you're awake," The doctor began. "Good. I'm Dr. Jones. How are you feeling?"

"Like I was almost sliced in half," Sam replied, chuckling.

"But you're not in any pain?" Dr. Jones questioned.

"No, it just feels slightly uncomfortable," Sam said.

"Okay, as long as you're not in any pain. If you ever do feel pain, go ahead and page either me or Ms. Kylina, your nurse," The doctor told him. Sam nodded in reply. Dr. Jones checked the monitors hooked up to him, nodded in parting and left the room.
