Cas didn't remember falling asleep. He remembered laying with Dean in his arms, closing his eyes and enjoying the relaxing moment, then next thing he knew, Sam was pounding on the door. Dean jolted awake, scaring Cas awake with him. Cas stared at Dean as he jumped up from the bed, beckoning him into his closet. Grabbing his coat, and any other belongings he had laying out, he ran into the closet and hid, breathing quietly. He heard Dean open the door, but before Dean could say anything Sam cut him off.

“Dean, I can't find Cas anywhere. I looked in his room, the kitchen, the library, even the garage. I can't find him,” Sam sounded panicked.

Dean grumbled something unintelligible then said “I don't know man. Maybe you aren't looking hard enough. Lemme get changed and I'll help you look.” Dean made a point to speak kind of loudly, ensuring Cas heard him. Sam nodded and took off down the hallway. Dean shut his door quickly, locking it again. Walking over to the closet, he ripped the doors open.

“Here's the plan, I'll change and head out to help him look. Once we're cleared out of this area, sneak into your room and change. Make yourself look normal. If you can, sneak upstairs and act like you just came in from a walk,” Dean whispered harshly, tugging on new clothes as he made his way to his door, Cas trailing behind slowly. After nodding his confirmation of the plan, Cas stood back from the door as Dean headed out. Listening closely to hear the retreating footsteps. Quietly, he snuck out of Deans room into his own. Changing quickly, Cas rearranged himself to look presentable then he snuck back out.

Trying his luck, Cas tried to fly his way outside. He barely managed to make it to the outer door. Sighing from the energy that took, he walked around outside for a few minutes, just enough to smell of earth, then he headed back in. Just as he walked inside, he heard Sam and Dean yelling about where to find him. Upon hearing the door open and shut, both Winchesters stared at him. He blinked at them slowly, then made his way down the stairs. Sam ran up to him, gripping his shoulders tightly.

“Where have you been?!” Sam yelled in his face. Cas winced at the loudness, still groggy from waking up and the energy he used to fly. Sam shook his shoulders slightly. “I have been calling you for hours! I had to wake up Dean to help me look for you! You couldn't have left a note to let us know?!” Sam quickly pulled Cas into his chest, shaking his head slightly. Cas glanced at Dean, confusion written on his face. Dean had a look of horror on his face, as if he just realized something he wished he didn't know. When he made eye contact with Cas, he schooled his features, smoothing them back into the mysterious, unknown look his always sports.

“Are you happy now Sammy? You found him,” Dean spoke, rather coldly considering it was Sam he was talking to. Sam just nodded and hugged Cas closer. Cas stood there, lost in the middle of the two Winchesters strange behaviors. Dean just made a sound of confirmation in return and walked away. Cas stood there, in Sam's arms staring at Dean's retreating back, at a loss for words. Sam pulled back and smiled at Cas, winking.

To say Cas was even more confused than ever would have been an understatement. Cas stood there as Sam turned his back towards him and walked away too. Heading off in the same general direction of Dean. Standing in the middle of the War Room a few more minutes, Cas stared at the empty space where the Winchesters had walked away.

Slowly, Cas regained function of his body, moving back to his room to pack a bag for the hunt they were to go on. Passing by Dean's room on the way, he paused a moment to knock on his door. When he heard no answer, he tried the knob. Upon finding it locked, he knocked again and head a gruff “go away Cas” from Dean. Sounds of clothes being thrown indicating that Dean was “attempting” to pack.

Confused beyond belief, Cas walked the short distance to Sam's room. Knocking on the door, and entering when Sam answered. “Do you know what's going on with Dean?”

Sam looked at Cas like he had grown an extra head. Shaking his head, he replied, “I don't know man. But I have this plan, you just need to trust me.”

Cas stared at Sam. “Plan?”

“Yes, a plan. If everything goes right, and it should, then the outcome will be perfect,” Sam replied while packing up some bandages.

“I don't know if I like this plan, seeing as Dean is acting passive-aggressive and giving me short answers now,” Cas replied, sitting down on the edge of Sam's bed. Playing his the hem of his jacket, Vas debated on telling Sam about him and Dean.

Sam just laughed in turn. “It'll work out, man. With me acting this way towards you, Dean will get all jealous and cranky until I can finally get him to express his emotions and learn that being gay or bi is not a problem,” Sam replied easily, a smile on his face at his “fool-proof” plan. His smile dropped when he saw the kicked puppy look that Cas was giving him. “What?”

“Sam…” Cas started, unsure he was supposed to share this information without Dean's consent, but seeing as this is a dire situation that needed fixing before Sam made it worse, he made up his mind. “Dean and I have already worked out our feelings. We already talked about it, we even had sex,” Cas stopped as he saw the disgusted look on Sam's face at that statement. He watched on as the realization hit Sam, he just fucked up something that was working out.

“Fuck!” Sam said, thoroughly acknowledging how much he messed up. “Dammit! What am I supposed to…” he trailed off, lost in thought. Suddenly his face lit up. “I'll tell Dean that I don't feel like I can go on this hunt because of my stitches. That'll leave you two enough time alone together to talk things out!”

Cas shook his head. “That's if he will talk to me, let alone acknowledge anything that isn't the hunt.” That was the truth. When Dean was upset or hurt, he would drowned himself in work and when he wasn't working, he would drowned himself in liquor. Cas stood up, thinking about how he could fix this.

“Go through with your part of the plan, I'll make sure Dean doesn't leave without me on this hunt. After that, I'll figure something out,” Cas said, making his way towards the door to head to the garage.Sam nodded his head eagerly. “I'll wait in the car for him, go tell him now.” Cas walked out of the door, Sam on his heels. Heading towards the garage, Cas waited to hear the angry yells and/or door slams. Instead he was surprised to see Dean walk out, duffle in tow, heading towards the car.

As Dean slides into the Impala, Cas is even more to see Sam walking slowly towards the car, duffle in his hand and a scrunched up face, lost in thinking. Cas silently took his cue, getting out of the passenger seat and sliding into the back seat. Face stoically turned towards the window already. As Sam threw his duffle into the trunk, Dean started the Impala, obviously ready to get on the road already. It was a 23 hour car ride after all.

After Sam slides into his seat, getting buckled up, Dean hit the button on the remote to open the heavy garage door, turning on Metallica as he drives out of the garage, closing it after he pulled out all the way. “This is going to be a long drive,” Cas thinks to himself, as they start the trip to Orlando, Florida.
