You drew the arrow back, your hand shaking a little. You had been practicing for weeks now, and your best friend and archery teacher, Legolas, said that you were ready to try the more professional targets. You, on the other hand, were quite unsure. It felt as if you barely had gotten used to the amateur targets. However, you supposed that you needed to trust the elf. He was the professional archer after all. So, you drew the bow and let the arrow loose. It buried itself in the ground near the target. You turned back to your teacher.
"See, I am no good at this."
Legolas smiled, shaking his head, "At least you got it to be close to the target. When I was at this level it took me days to even get it to fly more than five feet."
You sincerely doubted that, but supposed that you would take the compliment.
Turning back to the target, you drew another arrow. After a few more shots, the arrow hit the bottom of the target. Granted, it was sticking out diagonally, and it was barely there, but it was something!
"I did it!" You yelled, turning and hugging your trainer.
He did not respond. You felt his muscles tense under his tunic. After a second, he relaxed a bit and put his arm on your back.
You looked up, your (e/c) eyes meeting his blue ones.
"Legolas? What is the deal? Don't you know how to give hugs?"
He looked at you awkwardly, "I do not know of which you speak."
You separated yourself from him and facepalmed.
"Duh!" You said, "you are an elf! You guys don't do all the same stuff as us."
"Correct, I do not understand this 'hug'."
"Well then, I suppose I will be your teacher for once!"
