"WHO DID YOU PISS OFF?" Luke cried shakily, running from the creature following them. Ashton didn't respond, in shock at the librarian's paralyzed body.

"Luke, what are you talking about?! How is it possible to have beef with the reptile kingdom?" Calum asked, pushing the library door open, sneakers squeaking as the four ran towards the school exit.

"Yeah, why the hell do you think I somehow caused this?" Ashton exclaimed, following Michael into the woods. None of them knew what the creature was or why it was attacking them, but they were sure it was supernatural.

"You're just that much of an asshole," Luke improvised. Ash side eyed him, but let it slide, and focused on not turning in front of Calum.

"Ariana, stop!" Her mother commanded, listening to sounds of running in the distance. "We always have to keep our guard up. Someone is coming, and they are coming quickly. Get your bow and arrow, you've had enough practice to shoot whatever's coming."

"What?! No I haven't, we've had one training session!" Ariana exclaimed, picking up her weapon.

"Ariana Grande, you get ready to shoot! It's in your blood, Grande's always step up in times of crisis! We never hide and watch or even run. We defend ourselves, with strategy of course." Joan lectured harshly, causing Ariana's hands to shake.

Ariana had hidden and watched a year ago, but her Mother could never know. She was not a true Grande in her Mother's eyes.

Joan held her shotgun and followed as Ariana stepped towards the sounds of running, fearful of what could happen. She was not ready to act, but she would have to do it anyway.

"Oh my god, those are kids from my school! W-What is that chasing them?!" Ariana gasped, observing the four boys who had fought today running from some monster. This was something that surprised her.

"It doesn't matter! Get ready to aim, we must protect those boys. They are humans just like us, look how scared they are!" Joan aimed her gun, as Ariana aimed her silver arrow.

Ariana took in a deep breath, trying to stop her body from shaking. When the boys passed, Ariana locked her aim on the creature and let the arrow glide into its eye. The creature moaned in pain, pouncing towards the two women. Joan fired her shotgun repeatedly, while Ariana shot arrows as quickly she could. The creature hissed, running away from them.

"I can't believe it! I can defend myself now," Ariana breathed, watching the creature run off. "We didn't die," She fanned herself, dropping the weapons as relief hit her.

"Of course we didn't, I told you." Joan patted her daughter on the back, who realized four boys were watching.

"What. The. FUCK?!" Calum exclaimed, clutching his chest. "I'm not on drugs, what's going on? Am I seeing things?"

Ashton eyed the two woman, knowing to hide that he was a wolf. They'd probably skin him alive if they knew. "Shut up, Calum. Let's just go home."

Luke gulped, staring at Ariana's weapons. Ashton had told him she came from a family of hunters, now he was cautious of her.

"Mom, let's give them rides home. We can't let them walk home after this," Ariana nudged her Mother.

"You're right. Hey boys, since you guys go to the same school, I'd hate to leave you all stranded with what just happened. We'd be willing to drive you all home," the four turned around, and Ashton quickly denied.

"Oh come on, some giant mutant lizard-cat thingy just chased you from school to here. You guys must be tired." Ariana insisted.

"She's right. I am still catching my breath!" Calum followed after Ariana, causing the rest to exchange worried looks. Getting in a car with two Grandes is practically a death wish. Despite this, the boys got in the back of the van, as Ariana rode shotgun. Joan told her to hang the flowers in her glove compartment.

"Wolfsbane?" Ariana asked herself in a hushed whisper, eyes widening. If she didn't get rid of this soon, Luke would probably pass out, and his mom would know. Wolfsbane is the weakness of every Werewolf. It's also deadly to humans. She quickly threw it out of the window.

"What the hell? Did you just--," her mother gasped, audibly frustrated.

"Yes! Are you insane? That's toxic to humans! My fingers are already tingling, you didn't think to let me know?"

"Oh, stop being dramatic. You only die if you eat it. Just wash your hands later and you'll be fine," she sighed, trying to keep her voice down and focus on the road. "Its a good air freshener."

"Okay, I'm totally buying you a gift tomorrow, and it's totally going to be non-lethal air freshener."

Ashton stayed silent as he contemplated what just happened. Why would Ariana do that? Her heartbeat had skipped. She was lying. She knew something. On the other hand, Michael and Luke grinned at each other in the backseat. That would've been a disaster.
