Chapter 14:

"Finally. Took you long enough, I thought you where supposed to be a racer," Alex says as I get out of my car.

I roll my eyes.
"I had to switch cars."

"How did you get that other car anyways? I know your not that well off."

"Won it in a race," I say sitting on the hood of my car.

"You're really good by the way," He tells me.

"Surprised?" I ask raising my eyebrow.

He chuckles.
"I never doubted."

"Listen-" I start.

"I'm-" He says.

We laugh.

"You first," I tell him.

He sighs, running a hand through his hair.
"I'm sorry about yesterday. I know I had no right to yell at you, or threaten you-"

"No! You had all the right. I shouldn't have stayed and listened, it wasn't my business," I interrupt him.

"It wasn't. But, I could've handled the situation better." He agrees.

"Yes, you could've." I agree back.

We both spend some minutes standing in the quiet.

"Are you gonna tell anybody my secret?" I break the silence.

"No." He states.

I nod.
"Thanks."

"Chris knows, huh?" Alex questions.

I nod with my lips pursed.
"I'm sorry. I told him not to tell you. He found out because we raced against each other the same day I met you both."

He just nods.

I look awkwardly at the grass.
It's way too fucking quiet. What happened to making out?

I feel my phone vibrate.

I take it out, and immediately regret it.

The bitch from hell, Aka Aunt Linda.

"Fuck." I curse.

"Are you gonna answer that?" Alex asks looking at my phone.

"Uhh, yeah. Excuse me," I say and walk a couple of inches away from him.

"Where the hell are you, Alina!" My aunt whispers furiously.

"Not at the cocktail party." I reply smartly.

"Get here this instant!" She whispers

"Why the hell are you whispering?" I question leaning against my car.

"I'm in the bathroom!"

"Linda, is everything okay?" I hear another voice from the line.

"Perfect, Maria! Don't worry, go back to the party." My aunt says cheerily.

"Well, alright. Holler If you need anything."
