Chapter 8:

ANNABETHS POV
The ambrosia healed Lily, which was good, and we went to sleep.
TIME SKIP TILL THEY ARE 13
During the past years they just lived life.
"No!" Lily yelled "Absolutely not!" Lily yelled more
"I am NOT going!" Lily yelled stomping up to her room
"Lily, come back!" I said
"No! I'm NOT GOING TO THE DOCTORS! I'm going into 7th grade, which means I need a shot, and I am NOT getting a shot! I hate them!" Lily yelled
LILYS POV
I ran up to my room and climbed the rope to my loft bed. I'm a gymnast, so I can do it quite fast, we moved out of New Rome, because we thought it would fun to fight monsters every now and then. Since my brother and I weren't demigods the scent wasn't very strong. One of the nails was loose and I scratched my hand, but didn't let it bother me, there was blood, but I wiped it off.
"Hey Liam!" I woke him up
"Hi sis! Are you ready for our yearly check up? " he asked
"Heck no!" I yelled
*gasps* "Lily! What happened!" He yelled as he saw blood dripping from my hand
"Shut up! I don't want mom and dad to fin-" I got cut off as my parents ran into the door.
"What happened! Lily! " my mom said running over as she saw my hand.
"Lily, why didn't you show your dad and I this?" She said wiping it up. "This is deep, your going to need to get a Tetnis shot, this could be infected." My mom said picking me up and taking me out to the car, Liam following.
"No! I'm NOT getting a shot! No! No! No!" I yelled kicking and screaming.
My mom out me in the car, buckled me up and locked the doors from the outside.
" we are going to the doctor, to get that checked out and for check ups."
"No! I don't want shots!" I yelled
"You're acting like a child, don't be foolish." My mom said
"Ugh!" I said
At the doctors
After Liam had his doctors appointment it was my turn...yay...
They did everything your supposed to as I hid my hand and then my mom came in and told them about my hand.
"Did Lily tell you about her cut?" My mom asked
"No, what cut?" The doctor asked
"Lily! Why didn't you show the doc? Show him now" she said
"Now" she said raising her eyebrows and her tone of voice
"Fine" I said reluctantly showing him my hand
His eyes widened. " you are going to need a Tetnis shot, plus your 3 shots for 7th grade." He said.
"No, no, no, no...." I said
"Come on, it won't hurt" he said
"Yes it will, plus I HATE shots" I said
" just give me your hand, and stick out your leg." He told me to do
I stuck out my leg and reluctantly have him my hand.
"This is really bad. Be grateful you're here, otherwise it could have gotten infected." He said and then slapped my leg not very hard but did as he gave me the shots as I was still reacting to him slapping me.
"What? Why did you do that??" I asked
"To get your mind off of the shot, see, I am done." He said
"Bye!" I said running out to the car.
"Well, I'm sorry about that doc." My mom said.
"No, no, it's fine." He told my mom.
1 week later
*sirens in the air*
*chatting fills the air as my brother was rushed to the hospital, something just happened but there was too much commotion I don't know what's going on*
At the hospital
Percy's POV
"Lily is asleep" I said to Annabeth "you take her and I'll go check on Liam" I whispered to her. She gave me the ok sign.
Liam has a bunch of breathing tubes and cables and gadgets attached to him. It pains me to see him like that. Then the beeper went BEEEEEEEEEP. Uh oh, I know what that means.
An hour later
We were still at the hospital and even though they just got check ups last week, Liam has passed away of natural causes. We don't know what of, because it hasn't been confirmed, but I started to cry. Then Annabeth came in with Lily as we said our goodbyes to Liam and cried.
A month later after the funeral.
The doctor confirmed that Liam has passed away from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
But we can't rely on the past, sad things happen and we still she's to keep smiles on our faces. But still, it's hard to think that this would ever happen. We'll miss our big guy, but  I guess we just have to move on. Annabeth and I haven't forgotten Liam, but we continued to work, tears every now and then, but Lily hasn't smiled since then. We got her heart checked, and it was perfectly healthy, which is good, but seeing her sad is not. She hadn't smiled in a month, that's a very long time. But, at least he was a good man, hopefully he made it to Elysium.
6 months later
Life is going smoother and we haven't forgotten about Liam. Lily still hasn't smiled and we don't blame her though. She doesn't come out of her room, and she has only been doing minimum school needed, unlike she used too. She sits in bed all day and we wonder what she does, she doesn't come down for meals, so we bring them up to her and she doesn't talk. She just stays up in her room, on Liam's bed, looking at pictures of him. Poor Lily.
