Adrien awoke facing the wall, his eyes blinking open in a narrow squint.

Rays of sun peeked through their cheap blinds, coating their walls in a crisp, morning gold.

He rolled over to face the magical woman who filled his life with joy and tears and everything he needed and didn't. Even sometimes, when it seemed all was lost, he got lost in her extravagant eyes, and knew, that going forward, things were going to be okay, because he had her.

Those eyes he couldn't see right now, because she had her eyes closed. His eyes trailed along her nose and chin, and he was so very tempted to touch her. So he did.

He pushed some loose hair behind her head, and circled his thumb across her cheek.

The corner of her lip turned up so slightly, he wasn't sure if he imagined it.

"Marinette, are you awake?" he whispered softly.

When she didn't respond, he took her hands, which were curled up beneath her chin.

Her eyelashes fluttered.

"Marinette," he called quietly, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I know you're awake."

This time, she silently giggled and opened one eye.

Adrien started a bit. He forgot how blue her eyes were.

"Good morning, Adrien," she yawned, and flopped onto her back, spreading out her arms.

"Hi, Marinette."

"'Hi, Marinette.' Really?" Her voice was filled with sleep.

Adrien gave her a shy smile when she turned her head his way. Marinette's eyes softened at the sight.

"Come on, kitty," she said, sitting up and pulling him with her. "We have a lot of unpacking to do."

She crawled off the bed, and walked out of the room in her salmon t-shirt and black shorts, already energy filled and ready for the day.

He fell back into the mattress, but rushed out of the bedroom when he heard a thump, nearly tripping over his long green pajama pants.

He emerged to see Marinette getting up off the floor. In front of her was a box with his clothes spilling out onto the carpet.

He laughed to himself, shaking his head.

"Oh, I'm so clumsy," she complained.

"That you are," he assured.

Adrien took in the rows and stacks of boxes.

"Ready to start the day, m'lady?"

"For sure," she answered. "And you can start by making breakfast."
