Today was a great day. It's was Alya and Nino's two year anniversary of being together.

They were both excited to present their gift, hoping it would be better than the other person's.

Nino was driving Alya to a park for a celebratory picnic. He also had a box poking his leg from his pocket.

"So Nino," Alya smirked. "Are you excited for my gift?"

"Your gift? Well, somewhat, since it's you."

Alya shot him a look at the yucky lovey dubbyness.

"But I think," he continued, "that you should be excited for my gift."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

"But uh, my gift is personalized. It makes in special. What makes yours special, huh?"

They arrived at the park. Nino lept out of the car and opened the trunk for Alya, who took the cooler and food basket as Nino pulled out the blanket.

"Little did you know, feisty one, that my gift too, is personalized."

Looking defeated, Alya slumped into a tree as Nino laid out the orange picnic blanket. Alya rolled onto the ground, squinting at the sun that came through the trees leaves.

"You wanted it to be a competition, didn't you?" Nino asked knowingly.

"Kind of, but then I realized it wouldn't be much of a competition if one was destined to win, and the other was a proven loser."

"Ah, so you've already admitted your defeat."

"No! You're the loser, you idiot." She grabbed his hand and yanked him down beside her.

"You're lovely, you know?" Nino told her, nudging his nose against her shoulder.

"I do know, in fact, because I'm not a poop brain like you." She rolled over and smiled, looking from his hair to his lips.

That would have to wait, she thought.

"You see, Nino, in school, I studied rather than spending all my time breaking record discs."

"Stalking Ladybug," he corrected.

"Studying."

With a soft laugh, Nino took her hand. She squeezed.

"Two years," she started. "Crazy, huh?"

"Not as crazy as you."

Alya groaned, then sighed.

"It's been a great two years," she said.

"Sure has."

They stayed there for a while, just pleased with the simple presence of the other, until Alya's competitiveness rushed into her.

"He, Nino?" she asked, sitting up and reaching to her purse.

Nino tried to pull her back down. "No, please don't go."

"I'm not leaving, dummy. Chill out."

But of course, he held her hand tight.

She clutched a box behind her as she said, "Ready to settle who truly has the best gift?"

He shot up quickly. "Oh, yeah I am."

"Okay," Alya smirked. She was certain she would win this. "You go first."

"No. You go first."

"You go."

"No, you," Nino insisted.
