The Prom was coming up soon, and everyone was hyped. People were looking for dates, including Nino and Adrien.

"Who are you taking to Prom?" Nino asked Adrien.

Adrien made a frustrated noise and leaned back against his locker.

"Do you seriously not have a date?"

Adrien shook his head.

"Dude! You're Adrien Agreste! Model. Famous fashion designer dad. And you don't have a date?"

He shook his head again.

"You could pretty much go with any girl you wanted to, and pretty much every girl wants to go with you too. Well, those who aren't already hooked up," said Nino, looking thoughtful and clearly think about Alya, how she's his and he's hers, and she would never run off to anyone else.

"Perhaps, but I'd like to go with someone I actually know, not just any girl who likes me because I'm a model or something like that."

"Yeesh, man. What about Chloe? She's entirely obsessed with you."

"Ew."

"Agreed. Oh, you could go with Marinette. Then we could sit together as a squad. A double date. Alya and I as... a couple, and you and Marinette as friends. Unless..." suggested Nino, smirk evident on his face.

"No," Adrien laughed.

I love someone else, he wouldn't dare say.

"Marinette and I are just friends," he said instead.

Bummer, Nino thought. He (like pretty much every wise one ever) shipped Adrinette.

"But good plan," Adrien added. "I'll ask her."

Something tickled Alya's neck as she updated the Ladyblog at her locker. At first she thought it was her hair, and swept it away, but the tickle kept coming. Finally, she turned around to see Nino's lanky figure dangling a pair of ear buds over her shoulder.

"What now, Nino?"

His face fell. "Aren't you happy to see me?"

"Of course I'm happy to see you, knucklehead." She punched his shoulder. "What's good?"

"I wanted to show you my new mixtape. It's sick."

"Alright."

He tried to brush back her hair and put his ear buds in her ears, but she flicked his hands away and grabbed the ear buds her self, handing one back so Nino could listen at the same time.

Nino took it gladly, totally not purposely taking her hand briefly first.

Together, they listened to Nino's impressive clash of beats and bass and electronic tones, which ended in a robotic voice speaking, "Will you go to Prom with me," and a few more sounds to finish it off.

Nino bit his lip as Alya slowly turned towards him. She didn't know what to say. Yes, of course, but how, she was clueless.

"First of all, that was quite epic. Your best composition yet," she started off, trying confidence even though she was embarrassingly excited.

"Second of all, hell yeah." With her hands atop each other on Nino's shoulder, she placed on his cheek the only kiss he'd ever gotten.

His eyebrows contracted and his lips disappeared into his mouth. That went better than expected.

"Adrikins!" Chloe's annoying screech cut through the school yard at recess.

Oh dear, oh no, oh absolutely no, Nino save me, Adrien pleaded with his eyes, hoping for some rescue. Just make her vanish.

The universe seemed to laugh in his face. Haha, too bad!

Chloe came dashing across to him, Sabrina the underrated side kick following.

Chloe threw her arms around him and leaned into him. The closer she got, the further back he tried to step.

"So, Adrien," she stretched, twirling a piece of hair. "We're going to Prom together right?"

Stalking from some nearby corner, Marinette's eye twitched.

"I-uh," Adrien tried to respond. He glanced around. What could say? He didn't want to hurt her feelings, no matter how much she deserved it. What a sweet cinnamon roll child.

"Adrien," Chloe cooed, getting impatient. "You aren't considering another girl, are you?"

This time, when she stepped closer, Adrien tripped over his own ankle in a desperate attempt to get away. He went stumbling, trying to catch his balance. A smile crept onto his face when he saw his luck.

He couldn't help it. He caught himself on Marinette's shoulder, and stood right at her side, and sort of behind her.

Marinette's face was redder than Nathanaël's hair.

Alya snapped out her phone and snickered as she captured the moment, forever in her phones memory.

Adrien showed Chloe his confidence and hoped Marinette wouldn't reject him. She did look rather terrified at the moment.

"Actually, I'm going with Marinette," he said. "My apologies, Chloe."

"You-ugh-what? You picked her over me?" Chloe looked ready to pounce. "We are so over, Adrien."

We were never a thing in the first place, he thought, still satisfied that she was finally leaving.

"Marinette, I can't believe it," he heard her mutter as she stormed away. "Sabrina, find me a date. And he better not be a loser. Someone popular, who doesn't disgust me."

"Right on it," Sabrina replied, sweetly.

He turned his attention to the girl under his arm. "Yeah, awkward way to ask you, sorry. But, will you go to Prom with me, Marinette?"

Marinette bared her teeth, the closest thing she could achieve to a smile. She tried to say yes, but the words choked out into a squeak. When she tried to nod, her foot slipped out from under her.

Adrien kept her from falling. "That's a yes I hope?"

Alya, still recording and snapping pictures, flashed Adrien a thumbs up and nodded violently.

"Cool, then, Marinette." He leaned in a bit and whispered, "Thanks for saving me from Chloe."

He smiled a heart melting smile, and walked off coolly, like he didn't just ask his number one obsesser to Prom.

Alya had to push Marinette down the halls to ensure she got to class on time.
