You stare blankly at your new surroundings. Studying the rooms, you can't tell whether the walls are purple or pink.
That's pretty funny, you thought. You're worrying about colors. It's "The Dress" all over again.
"(Y/N)? Are you alright, child?"
You snap out of your irrelevant thoughts, and pay attention to the importance of the situation. You hadn't realized you'd stopped walking.
"Yes, Miss Toriel, I'm absolutely fine," you answered. She gave you a kind smile.
Frisk would give you the cutest smiles when you got them ice-cream. Content, and truly happy ones. It wasn't ordinary ice-cream either, but freeze-dried ice-cream. They always were a fan of sweets.
Frisk... You'd completely forgotten the reason you were here. To find them- not only that, but bring them home in one piece.
"Toriel?"
"Yes, child?"
"You said Frisk was down here. Do you know where they are?"
"I actually ran here for an errand. I was going to tend to the buttercups, but I ended up tending to your wounds instead," Toriel chuckled.
"I have a butterscotch-cinnamon pie in the oven at the moment. If we hurry, you can see Frisk, and eat a slice. How does that sound, child?"
"It sounds... Nice," you said, rather quietly.
I'll finally see them again- after nearly a week, I'll know they're safe. Even if we never get to our real home, I'll be happy, because I'll protect them. They are the only family I have. And I won't lose any more members of it.
"We're here, child. Welcome to my home."
*Seeing such a cute, tidy house in the RUINS fills you with PERSEVERANCE*
You run to the door, and quickly open it, holding the door for Toriel. I mean, who would slam the door- to somebody's OWN HOME- in their face after being so nice to you?
Anyways, as soon as she gets through the door, you hear her chuckle as you bolt down a hallway, looking for Frisk.
Even though you don't know which room is which, you enter what seems to be a children's bedroom.
"I'll look for them outside, child!"
You hear a door close, and open a few seconds later.
That was fast.
You hear quick, yet light, footsteps. The door suddenly opens. It's them.
"Frisk! Thank goodness you're-"
Your sentence gets cut short as Frisk tackles you, giggling madly.
"Sis, you looked for me!"
"Of course I did! But, I have a question."
"What, Nerd?"
"How dare you leave me? You shall be punished!"
"Oh, no!"
"Oh, YES!"
You jump onto Frisk, tickling them, while they lay on the floor, laughing hysterically.
"Stop! Stop it! I'm sorry," Frisk manages to gasp out between laughter.
"You will be! Feel the wrath of the Tickle Queen!"
"No!"
Toriel opens the door, and you stop, leaving your poor sister gasping for air on the hard floor.
She gives a small snicker, before she talks.
"Children, come out of your room, please. The pie is getting cold."
"Yes, mom!" Frisk gave the tall woman a tight hug, before running out of the room.
Mom? We hardly know her...
"Are you not coming, (Y/N)?"
"In a bit. I just need some rest. Maybe a nap would do me some good."
"Alright- talk to me when you wake," Toriel says, starting to walk out the door.
"Wait!"
She pauses, turning around in the doorframe.
"Yes?"
"Thank you," you say.
"For everything."
