Hours flew by. You and Frisk spared each and every monster you came across. By the time the both of you had to battle Papyrus, you could barely keep your eyes open.

It was nice of the skelebros(That was your new nickname for them) to let you stay at their house. It was pretty tidy, save for the single sock on the floor.

Though you heard your stomach growl, you were too comfortable to get up, nonetheless too tired.

Maybe I'll just close my... eyes for a second.... Bam. Out like a light. The last thing you heard was Frisk quietly snoring.

(Frisk's POV)

I opened my eyes to find I was surrounded by darkness.

"Not again," I say.

"What, are you scared, you big baby?"

I groaned. "I'd never be afraid of you, Chara."

"That's a lie, and you know it."

"Why did you bring me here, Chara," I asked, losing my patience.

"Your sister... She's rather... Interesting," Chara said.

"Leave (Y/N) alone, Chara."

"It's not me you should be worried about. I can't touch her. Our souls are different," Chara explained.

"Oh right. You need to have a purple soul. Forgot about that."

"Although... There is someone else," She said.

I then realized. "She has perseverance. She... She'll be haunted by-"

"The nerd that was obsessed with writing. Emily."

The room, if you can even call it that, went quiet for about a minute. I was the one to break the silence.

"I know you two have a bad history. I just..." I sigh "I don't think you should be mad about this. Just because Emily was bad to you doesn't mean-"

"I know," Chara interrupted. "But it troubles me to think both of them were and are sorcerers."

"You... never told me that Emily was a sorceress."

"There's alot I haven't told you from before I fell."

I gasp. "Story time?" I give an adorable smile, the kind I only used for (Y/N).

They groan. "Fine. Story time."

(Chara's POV)

School was the place I hated the most, but I still had to go there. Or at least I thought I did.

I walk up the brick stairs, hesitantly opening the doors. As soon as I did, I regretted it.

"Look, the demon's back!"

"They've come to kill us all!"

"Go to Hell where you belong."

I wanted to make them stop. I needed them to stop, or else I'd... I'd...

"Can you guys quit it already? They  just got here."

I'd never heard someone say that before.

I looked to the owner of that voice, and saw a thin brunette, with violet eyes. She wore black flats on her petite feet, that were a few inches under her knee-length purple dress. Her face was adorned with indigo glasses, and she held a torn notebook in her arms. She had chipped purple nail polish, and an amethyst ring.

She really liked purple.

The crowd of bullies looked at her, giving confused stares. She ignored the people glaring at her, and walked right up to me, and held out her pale hand. She gave a gentle smile.

"Come on. Let's get out of here."

I gratefully took her hand, and we walked to the cafeteria.

She got me breakfast, because even the lunch workers didn't accept me. She was one of the only nice people in the school.

"Your eyes... they're purple," I said instantly regretting it.

"And your eyes are red. So what?"

I was suprised at her response.

"You don't let them phase you? -The bullies, not your eyes," I curiously asked.

"Of course not. It only gives them motivation to keep hurting us when they get a reaction. It's best to think that they're just saying random words."

"Good advice."

"We'll be out of here soon. My mom says school is only a small part of our lives, and soon we'll be dealing with real problems. Oh, and I never got your name. I'm Emily." She, once again, held out her hand, for me to shake it.

I, of course, took it graciously, gently shaking it up and down.

"It's Chara."

(Frisk's POV)

"I never thought you started off as friends, C."

"Don't call me that," They said. "Sometimes enemies begin as friends, and vice versa." Chara looked around. The darkness was turning light.

"Time for you to go, Frisky."

"You can call me 'Frisky' but I can't call you 'C'?"

"'C' sounds like 'see', and seeing has to do with eyes. We both know that's a touchy subject of mine. Anyway, see ya."

"Bye Chara," I waved.

I was consumed by light.

((Y/N)'s POV)

You softly shake Frisk awake, wanting to get back to your journey.

"Five more minutes..."

"You've had 12 hours! I think that's enough!"

They groan.

"No!"

You grabbed their small arm, and dragged them off of the jade-green couch, dropping them to the floor. Papyrus had offered you two his bed, but that was too much to ask in your opinion.

"Leaving so soon?" A familiar voice asked.

You looked, and sure enough it was Sans.

"I don't think so. This one refuses to wake up."

"Well... Maybe that's a good thing," Sans said.

"How so?"

"I was hoping I could take you out to Grillby'z? I mean, if it's not too much to ask."

"Sure, I could eat," you answered. "But are you sure Frisk can stay here?"

"It'll only be for a few minutes. The kid'll be fine," he replied.

"If you say so."

You get up and put Frisk back on the couch, tucking them under a blanket. You kiss their forehead and ruffle their brown fringe.

Sans politely holds the door open, and blue lightly dusts his cheeks.

"Why thank you, kind sir," you chuckle, giving your best British accent.

"Only the best, milady," Sans says, absolutely failing at it.

You laugh, and Sans joins in, shutting the door behind him.

You walk forwards, following his lead. You saw what looked like a bar up ahead.

What you didn't see was a look of success on Sans' face.
