Sans had teleported you back to snowdin and after the overwhelming coldness, you two walked into his cozy house. Why he didn't think of teleporting into the house, you didn't know. You didn't ask either, because you couldn't find the willpower to even care.
After Sans closed the door behind you both, you were suprised by what you saw.
Some kind of white powder was spread across the floor, and there was a knife on the kitchen counter. You saw Frisk running down the stairs with a dustpan and broom, hurrying to clean the mess. They were covered in the same powdery substance.
They looked at Sans with fear in their eyes and when you turned to look at him, you saw why.
Sans' eye was burning blue as it had before, and with the flick of his wrist Frisk was sent into the air, their red soul now blue.
Before you could register anything, Frisk quickly flew towards the wall at a high speed, sending you into a panick.
"Sans, what are you doing?!"
He ignored you.
With another wave of his hand, Frisk was sent flying into another wall in the same direction Sans' left arm went.
"Sans STOP! PLEASE!" you cried, desperate for Frisk's safety.
Still no reply.
You grabbed his arm, trying to stop him from pummeling your poor sibling any further. He pushed you to the ground with his free arm, hard.
You fell on the carpet, and Sans finally stopped. You shot him an angry look. His eyes were apologetic, making you feel a small amount of guilt.
"(Y/N), I didn't-," he started.
You pushed past him, not caring about what he had to say. You helped Frisk to their feet, and your expression turned somber when you looked at their face.
They were bleeding from their nose and mouth, and their forehead was definitely going to be thoroughly bruised by tomorrow.
They stumbled, and you saw their leg didn't look okay enough for them to stand on, so you picked them up just as they fell unconscious.
"Thank you for letting us stay here, Sans," was all you said before walking through the front door, holding Frisk in your arms.
Sans' P.O.V.
I messed up. I hurt her and the kid without a second thought, and I just watched as (Y/N) left.
It was about a minute after she was gone when Papyrus practically broke the door open. He's safe, I thought. He was carrying a large brown paper bag.
"TINY HUMAN! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, HAVE BROUGHT BACK MORE FLOUR FOR THESE SO-CALLED 'COOKIES'," Paps says.
Flour? So that wasn't dust? I hurt the kid for no good reason, and now (Y/N) will never forgive me. I'm the worst person to ever live, I thought to myself.
"SANS? WHERE ARE THE HUMANS? AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THE-..." His voice trailed off. "Sans? Are you alright, brother? You're crying."
I worried him. He only lowers his voice when he's being completely serious. I dabbed a finger on my cheekbone, and sure enough, when I looked there were florescent blue tears.
"I'm fine, bro. They left just now. They're... just busy with something right now," I told him, putting on the fakest grin I'd ever managed.
And of course, Paps bought it.
"Oh. Okay, if you say so," He said, still a tinge of worry in his voice.
"Would you mind telling me what happened?" I asked.
"THE TINY HUMAN TOLD ME ABOUT SOMETHING ON THE SURFACE CALLED COOKIES. WE HAD FINISHED WITH THE DOUGH, AND THEY DROPPED THE FLOUR ALL OVER THE FLOOR, AND SOME GOT ON THEM. THEY TOLD ME TO GO GET MORE FLOUR, AND THAT THEY WOULD STAY TO CLEAN UP THE MESS," Papyrus explained.
I suck, I thought.
"I thought you w- I mean, I bet those cookies would have been great. Not as great as the Great Papyrus, though," I said. Nice cover-up, Sans. He's definitely going to buy that one, I thought, sarcastically.
"YOU REALLY THINK SO?"
I mentally face-palmed.
"Of course, bro. You're awesome," I told him.
He had to notice that I was off. I wasn't even making any puns. And though that was something he'd usually be grateful for, Paps still had a somewhat worried expression.
"I GUESS IF THE HUMANS ARE NOT HERE, I COULD GO HANG OUT WITH UNDYNE-," he said. After he mentioned Undyne, I stopped listening. Something had clicked in my skull.
If I'm not there to protect her, (Y/N) and Frisk will die. Undyne'll kill both of them, and who knows which one has the capability to RESET, I realized.
I bolted to the door, but before I could leave Papyrus stopped me.
"BROTHER, WHERE ARE YOU GOING? AND WERE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?" He asked.
"I need to get to the humans before Undyne does," I told him.
He looked at me for a moment before realizing what I ment. "OH, NO. TRY TO GET TO THEM AS SOON AS YOU CAN. MAYBE YOU CAN CONVINCE UNDYNE INTO THINKING THEY'RE GOOD HUMANS!" Papyrus said with a smile.
"I'm pretty sure it'll take a lot more effort than just that", was all I said before teleporting away.
She was a few feet in front of me, just where I thought she'd be. I started to run, getting closer to her by the second and-
