Trinity could not help herself. For the rest of the day Harry bombarded her mind. His voice last night and how low and raspy it had sounded when she could tell he was about to fall asleep, but he never did. He had promised he would stay up with her and so he did.
The fighting hadn't ended until about 3am but even when it did, he still wouldn't go. It was almost as if he knew more than she had ever told him. It was like he knew how her mind worked when she was left alone.
Well most of the time at least...
Now all she could see was his eyes. Her mind traveled to the summer nights they spent wandering around the properties and the gravel paths. She remembered how he had held her hand so tightly the first night she told him about her family. How he had wanted to tell, to get help, but she refused to because she was scared for her mother's life and sadly hers.
She didn't want to be a whimp at all but she was scared of what would happen if she would challenge him. Her father. Of course, what was happening because of zero action was just as bad. She hated how scared she was of everything, but at least she did have her reasons. The kids at school called her things no sixteen year old girl should be called and her parents saw her as a unwilling, lazy child. Even her mother. In fact, in that aspect, her mother was probably worse than her father.
In life there had only been one positive of the whole time she had been alive and it wasn't her childhood. In all truth, it had been last summer. It had been Harry. He had been so true and open and honest with her. He had even let her see him cry...
He was vulnerable in a way no man she had ever met had been. Perhaps he was a real man even now in a boy's body.

The night wore on and eliminations were coming on. Trinity was once again glued to the tv. When she saw Harrys face it seemed sad. Oh no, had she caused this? He looked tired as well. Oh no.... It was all her fault.
At least he had this though. She knew he would make it on. You could not send a voice like that home. You could not clip an angels wings.
She watched as people were called to stay and slowly people were called to leave. Harry's name was called. He looked tired but hopefully.
She leaned forward now, praying to a god she wasn't sure she even believed in anymore, all for him. The way he bit his lip was his only sign of nerves. Usually his hands would be in his curls, messing them up. That was not possible tonight, though, as his curls were partially hidden by a beanie.
Trinity took a mental note that she quite liked this look on him.
Simon looked at Harry and the camera focused on Harrys. It almost looked as if Harry was starring at her looking for some hope there. "You have this, angel." she whispered as if he could hear here.
Then Simon spoke. "Im sorry but you won't be going on." She gasped.
WHAT?! WERE THEY INSANE!
She barely comprehended as Harry shook his head, holding back tears and leaving the stage. Her instinct was to grab a phone. She needed to talk to him, to comfort him like he always had her, but she couldn't. It was useless. Instead, she watched as cameras followed all those whose chances had been crushed cry on national t.v.
Was privacy really against the law.
Then there was Harry.
She fell to her knees in front of the t.v.
She wanted to make it all better, to take away this pain.
But. At the same time, she would be glad to have him back. She was a greedy, awful person.
The more and more she thought about it, the more this all pleased her. She was sure hed be fine, and she could help. They could help eachother.
Just as her mind began to work in over time, Trinity's attention was pulled back to the screen. Five boys and five girls who had been eliminated had been asked to stay back. She could not find a reason why, so she watched.
*****
They were called to the stage and given a chance. A chance to move on. They wanted to put the five boys in a band. They wanted Harry in a band. They wanted him to stay.
She was happy.
Even though this meant not seeing him like she thought.
But whatever it took to keep the tears out of his eyes she had just seen was fine with her.
